Fujitsu president Kuniaki Nozoe sent an email to some 100,000 employees in Japan, asking them to buy Fujitsu products in order to bolster the company’s earnings. “If everyone in the group gets together, then it will become a great power.”
“Let’s protect our company by ourselves,” the email continued. This is not an uncommon tactic, where employees are encouraged to purchase company goods, or donate to the non-profit for which they work. Mr. Nozoe’s request is not a mandate, though, according to a spokeswoman: “This is asking for a favour.”
