Rumor: iPhone Boot Camp listserv confirms January 27th event?

This just came in through the tip line purporting to know for certain that the iSlate event will happen at the Yerba Buena Center in San Fran on January 27th, just as others have reported. The agenda should include a new SDK (probably iPhone/iSlate 4.0) and that most iPhone apps presumably run on the iSlate.
n addition to the introduction of the iTablet hardware recent rumors have said that a new software development kit for iPhone OS 4.0 could be revealed at the presentation.Tthe new kit may includes a "simulator" that allows developers to adapt their iPhone applications for different screen sizes and resolutions i.e. the iTablet, or whatever it is called:-)

Everything you need to know about Apple’s new gesturing systems

With the official closure of FingerWorks, the multi-touch interface company Apple purchased five years ago, it is interesting to note just what FingerWorks had to offer and, more important, what Apple may be implementing into the upcoming tablet and, potentially, iPhone 4.0 software. Aside from the obvious click, drag, and pinch, FingerWorks has a large collection of odd gesture and swipe combinations aimed at making basic data entry easier.

    Gruber on the Tablet

Good old John Gruber. While the rest of us are panting, he sits in the corner, calmly stroking his luxurious beard. He thinks the Tablet is real, I doesn't know anything about, all of his best sources say Apple's best designers are incognito, and that Steve loves the project.

  • The Apple Tablet: Will It Be Called iSlate, iGuide, Or Something Else?

The Apple Tablet: Will It Be Called iSlate, iGuide, Or Something Else?

After discovering that Apple had registered iSlate.com in late 2006 (we dug a little deeper and found trademarks had been filed for 'ISLATE' in both the United States and Europe by a company that was most likely a dummy corporation set up by Apple), MacRumors has now discovered another possible name for the upcoming Apple tablet. MacRumors bases its report on the filing for a US trademark for 'IGUIDE' by another Delaware-registered company called iGuide Media LLC, which can be linked to Cupertino by means of signatures on the documents coming from Apple's Senior Trademark Specialist, Regina Porter. Let's dig a little deeper, once again.

Good old Harry McCracken has build up another one of his exhaustive topical examinations, this time turning his bespectacled gaze towards the iPhone. Like the iSlate or the iTablet or the iNinjaStar, analysts, journos, and bloggers frothed at the mouth for years before the product was announced. • Apple’s New Tablet To Be Baptized iSlate? Let’s Dig A Little Deeper

Apple’s New Tablet To Be Baptized iSlate? Let’s Dig A Little Deeper

Nice scoop by MacRumors, which reportedly retrieved historical evidence that Apple has acquired the domain name islate.com back in 2007. Apparently, the Cupertino company registered the domain through brand protection firm Mark Monitor to conceal the fact that the domain name is theirs, as usual, but was briefly listed as the owner at some point in the past nonetheless.

If correct, that means we can add a rumor to a rumor: that the unconfirmed, unannounced but most definitely coming (maybe) Apple tablet device will be named iSlate. That would be in line with earlier connections of the ’slate’ term to the illusive tablet computer, based on New York Times Executive Editor Bill Keller calling it something to that effect in a speech.

    Let’s dig a little deeper.
