    We already knew everything about the DMC-G1 and DMC-G10. Panasonic announced them back in early March and revealed their 12.1 MP sensors, 3-inch LCD screens, and 720p video modes. But the press release back then didn't mention anything about pricing. Don't you hate that? We do.

    Panasonic may have a penchant for plasma TVs, but that doesn't mean they'll abandon the production of LCD TVs anytime soon. The company announced [JP] a total of six new LCDs today, all of which are part of the new VIERA D2 series. According to Panasonic, the main selling points of these models are the design and the LED backlights.

    3D TVs are coming whether we want them to or not. TV makers and content providers aren't testing the water - they're jumping head-first and pulling consumers in, too. But like high definition a few years back, early adapters will be forced to pay a high premium and suffer through a format war of sort before it really catches on. Take a look at Sony's just-announced 3D lineup: The company announced eight 3D BRAVIA TVs for the Japanese market along with a set of necessary 3D accessories, which will compete against Panasonic and Samsung sets when they all eventually hit the market in the coming months.     You could argue massage chairs are something for old people, but after coming to Japan over 5 years ago, I had the chance to relax in more than one of these for a few hours. And let me tell you these chairs, especially those made by Japanese makers, are awesome, provided you don't mind passing out while watching a movie. The problem is that these massage chairs are usually pretty expensive, just like this new model Panasonic announced [JP] yesterday. The main selling point of the EP-MA70 is the built-in ceramic heater that's supposed to relieve fatigue. Special "balls" are used to heat up your back, waist, shoulders and neck area to up to 40C.

    Panasonic in Japan has announced [JP] a new stereo system today, the D-Dock SC-HC40. The device is just 69mm thick at the thinnest part but integrates a speaker plus digital amplifier (20W×2ch(6Ω)), a CD player, an AM/FM tuner, an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot, and a "sliding door" (Panasonic).

    There's no doubt Panasonic really believes in the future of 3D. After having announced a number of 3D TVs and 3D-enabled Blu-ray recorders and players just last week, the company in Japan announced [press release in English] a new 3D monitor today. It's a 25.5-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD resolution, and it's very expensive. More so than the (much bigger) 3D TVs.
