Kensington’s new universal laptop charger, she is wonderfully tiny
Posted on January 7, 2010 | No Comments
Just met with Kensington here at CES and they’ve got a universal notebook charger coming out next month that uses 30% less energy than conventional adapters and is, perhaps more importantly, very nicely sized at 4.5" x 2.2" x 0.8" – the photos don’t quite do it justice. I thought it was a larger external backup battery for a cell phone at first.

USB to SATA 2.5-inch hard drive cable
Posted on December 10, 2009 | No Comments
There's usually a lot of unnecessary foreplay that goes along with accessing an old hard drive just to pull a few files off of it. You have to find your external drive enclosure, you might have to make sure you have a screwdriver to open it up, and… well that's pretty much it but that can take the better part of a morning if you're not organized.

Worlds Collide: iMo digital photo frame features built-in printer
Posted on November 19, 2009 | No Comments
If you thought that the whole point of the common digital photo frame was to make old-school photos a thing of the past, it looks like you were wrong. I was wrong too, so let's take comfort together in our wrongness. If the folks at iMo have their way, we’ll look at a digital photo on their digital frame and say to ourselves “I want that photo on some sort of card stock and I'll stop at nothing to get it!”

Belkin’s Windows 7 Easy Transfer Cable is your way out of family tech support
Posted on October 7, 2009 | No Comments
Ah, late October – a time when a young man’s fancy turns to love, the autumn gingerly steps aside to make way for winter, and, this year, the beginning of at least a year’s worth of non-stop free tech support you’ll have to provide to any of your friends and family that decide to buy a new computer with Windows 7 on it.
The biggest question: How do I get all my dumb photos, tax returns, and Miley Cyrus MP3s onto my new computer? Your new answer: Buy this $40 cable and leave me alone.

Logitech releases new guitars, drums for Wii/XB3600 Guitar Hero
Posted on September 9, 2009 | No Comments
Ahhh, just what the doctor ordered: Logitech just released a wireless guitar controller that looks like a kinda-sorta Superstrat played by Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden along with a collapsable drum kit for the Wii and the XBox360.
Using “the industry’s most advanced anti-ghosting technology,” Microsoft’s upcoming SideWinder X4 gaming keyboard “takes anti-ghosting to the next level by allowing gamers to press up to 26 keys at once.” And all for around $60!
Well hello there, Handsome. File this one under “Stuff I Want Despite No Practical Use In My Household” and cross file it into the “Not Bad For $60” folder. We’re looking at an HTPC-friendly remote control with built-in keyboard, trackball, and media buttons from Lenovo.
