PS3 Linux class action lawsuit coming at ya
Posted on April 29, 2010 | No CommentsLooks like Sony now finds itself on the business end of a class-action lawsuit. You'll recall that a recent PS3 firmware update removed the "Other OS" option from the console, preventing owners from installing Linux (which was one of the selling points when the PS3 first came out in 2006). The removal upset one California gentleman, who filed suit with the note "Sony's decision to force users to disable the Other OS function was based on its own interest and was made at the expense of its customers."

New firmware update: Sony readies PS3 for future 3D games
Posted on April 22, 2010 | No Comments
Sony, which just recently scrapped Linux as an alternate OS for the PS3 with firmware update v3.21, released v3.30 today. The mandatory update neither brings Linux back nor features anything substantial per se (it gives you new sorting options for trophies). But with it, Sony readies the console for future 3D games and other 3D content.

‘Yeah, but does it run Crysis 2?’
Posted on April 9, 2010 | No CommentsThe World's video game press gathered in New York on Tuesday for the world premiere of Crysis 2, the sequel to the game whose memory lives in on the question, "Yeah, but does it run Crysis?" It's no coincidence that Crtyek, the game's developers, and EA, the game's publisher, chose New York to show off the game, with Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli calling the city "symbolic of the pride of mankind." Clearly he hasn't been to the more rubbish sections of Queens. Yes, you're in an altogether different type of jungle this go-round.

Posted on April 6, 2010 | No Comments
This is something gadget modder Ben Heck might have thought about, but if yes, Japanese game peripheral maker HORI (which also sells stuff in the US) was faster this time. The company today announced [JP] a portable LCD screen, which, once attached to the top of a PS3 Slim, makes the console (somewhat) portable.

More importantly, let's discuss the possibility of Square Enix remaking Final Fantasy VII, because that hasn't been done before on the Internet.
I almost bought a Sony
