Seagate to announce new ultra-thin drives at CES
Posted on December 10, 2009 | No Comments
Seems like Seagate is trying to make up for some lost time in the storage technology field. After a late entry into the SSD market, Seagate may be getting a jump start on the ultra-thin drive market. One of the issues with the new ultra-thin generation of notebook computers is the hard drive size. You can only make a computer so thin before you run into issues with the thickness of the components.

Seagate finally shows up at the solid state drive party with an enterprise offering
Posted on December 8, 2009 | No Comments

Hands-on: 1TB Seagate FreeAgent Go Portable Drive

I just got the 1TB FreeAgent Go Portable Drive from Seagate and I’m impressed. First off, it’s not that large. I mean, it’s sort-of bulky compared to Seagate’s smaller FreeAgent Go drives, but it’s manageable. The drive is [...]
I like inovative products and after spending some time with the Seagate FreeAgent DockStar, I think it's just that. This thing is cool. The concept is simple and thankfully, so is the product. All you do is insert a Seagate FreeAgent Go hard drive in the dock - or use a USB flash drive - and then the dock becomes not only a local network share, but also an Internet-connected storage device through Pogoplug. I'm pleased to report that it works without any hassle, but I still don't think you should buy it.
Seagate’s just busted through that swing-down arm thing commonly found at tollbooths and for-pay parking lots. In the wake of thousands of little wooden splinters, we observe Seagate sticking its hairy arm out the driver’s side window, fist clenched but for a solitary index finger pointing skyward, as if to say, “I’m number one.”
