Okay, so I'm really starting to get into SGU. It was a long road to this point, but it's definitaly getting better. Yeah, it's not episodic like SG-1 or Atlantis, but the story line is certainly improving. I'm so excited about tonight that I didn't even watch the trailer or teaser embedded here or read the episode descriptions over at Gateworld. I'm only that anal about shows I like so I guess that says something.

Reminder: Stargate Universe comes back on tonight

Stargate Universe's season one starts back up tonight and we might finally see some the alien baddies and a space ship fight. The first ten episodes where just OK, but the series shows potential with a good cast, novel story line, and great sets/locations. Those three things also happened to be the three pillars holding up the previous Stargate shows. All SGU needs to do is tone down the seriousness a bit and run a bit more loose. That's what Stargate always did best and truly separated itself from other shows within the genre.

Stargate Universe’s aliens are, well, alien

Stargate shows have always featured aliens, but they weren't alien-ish for the most part. The story line of SG-1 and Atlantis of course supported the creative (and budget) decision, but SGU is different. This time our cast is exploring exploring the very deepest parts of space and so the aliens should be different. And different they are.

Well my day just got better. SGU is currently on a mid-season break but at least the news broke that the show got picked up for another season. Now if I can only wait until April to see how Dr. Rush gets back on board the Destiny.

Okay, seriously, this is the worst interview ever. The hosts are clueless, mock the genre, and don't do the show justice. Oh, and WTF is up with the music at 0:55? Wow. Feel free to watch the whole 9:13 interview, but you may want to just skip forward to 6:38 for a new clip of Stargate Universe. Be warned though, you will cringe at the comments right after that clip.
