TwitCasting lets you stream live video and tweet simultaneously from your iPhone
Posted on March 5, 2010 | No Comments
Late last year, Ustream and qik launched iPhone applications that let you stream videos from the iPhone to the web and allow others to watch them as they're being recorded. And now there is an iPhone app called TwitCasting Live (iTunes link), which offers the same basic functionality, but is - as the name suggests - much deeper integrated into Twitter.
The free app is essentially a live streaming app and Twitter client rolled into one. TwitCasting Live splits the iPhone screen in half, allowing you to view your Twitter timeline, update your status, access the web etc. on the bottom half, while recording (broadcasting) video on the top.

Twitter controversy mars Shorty Awards ceremony
Posted on March 4, 2010 | No CommentsThe Shorty Awards were handed out last night in New York amid incredible controversy. The awards, if you've never heard of them before, are handed out to Twitter users who exemplify Twitter's potential "to create the best real-time short form content." It's sorta cute I guess, just recognizing people who tweet interesting things. There's one problem, and it has to do with the award handed out in the "Weird" category.

Yes! Another Ron and Fez Twitter party, this time for The Oscars!
Posted on March 4, 2010 | No CommentsRon and Fez, the fantastic Sirius XM radio show that makes my day every day, will host the world's first second Twitter party on Sunday! It's a follow-up to last month's Super Bowl Halftime Show Twitter Party, which was pretty much a gigantic success. What's being celebrated this time around? The Oscars (gi gi gi)! It gets even better: a live radio show will actually accompany the Twitter party. I'm excited.

United Airlines discovers how to gain revenue using Twitter and male enhancement pills
Posted on February 26, 2010 | No CommentsHey, times are tough and if United Airlines has to advertise sex pills on Twitter to keep costs down, I’m all for it. Maybe the company needed the extra revenue and used Twitter instead of installing quarter meters on its plane’s bathrooms. Or the account was hacked. Either way, it makes for a fun, Friday [...] -
Darren Bent has quit Twitter! Alert the media!
Posted on February 17, 2010 | No CommentsTwitter: 2006-2010. No, the site isn't shutting down, unfortunately, but it might as well be, for Sunderland striker Darren Bent has quit. Look, see! This is a terrible day for humanity.

Sprint tweets about Android 2.1 update, coming second quarter
Posted on February 16, 2010 | No CommentsIf you own a HTC Hero or Samsung Moment, don’t get too jealous at DROID and Nexus One owners just yet. Sure, it might take a while, but Sprint is working things out so that its Android handsets receive the latest version of Android, 2.1. I’m sure this will be an OTA update like most Android [...] -
T-Mobile toys with our emotions, says HTC HD2 announcement coming next week
Posted on February 12, 2010 | No CommentsSuspense and anticipation are sometimes far more satisfying than the actual reward, but I’m hoping that’s not the case for T-Mobile. From its official Twitter account, T-Mobile USA taunts us and pokes at what little we apparently know about the HTC HD2. Then it makes us wait a whole week before we find out what [...] -
Ron and Fez’s Twitter party, the world’s first, was a huge success
Posted on February 8, 2010 | No CommentsLast night's Super Bowl was pretty amazing. That seems to be the general reaction, at least. But you know what was just as amazing, if not more amazing? The Ron & Fez Twitter party, which I'm pretty sure was the very first organized Twitter party in history. Is there a FourSquare for that?

World’s first Twitter party? Ron and Fez Super Bowl Twitter party this Sunday (and you can win knissors!)
Posted on February 5, 2010 | No CommentsThis may be a first: a Twitter Super Bowl party! Sirius XM's Ron and Fez is having some sort of Twitter party celebrating The Big Game. Trivia, prizes, virtual booze, Chris Stanley passed out at a speakeasy in Long Island City—what more could you want? Oh, that's not enough for you? Then how about a pair of knissors signed by East Side Dave McDonald, whom I interviewed last summer?
