Video: Medal of Honor multi-player beta videos
Posted on June 24, 2010 | No CommentsMedal of Honor, also known as Modern Warfare With Beards, has a public multi-player beta that's happening right now. It's exciting! (But not as exciting as seeing Italy knocked out of the World Cup.) GameTrailers has a couple of videos of the multi-player beta in action that may interest you. Hey, at least it's not iPhone 4-related!

Video: AMD explains the explosive growth of the Cloud (there’s no stopping it!)
Posted on June 22, 2010 | No CommentsFrom the good folks at AMD comes this, a video explaining the wonders and joys of moving all of our computing… to the Cloud! The soundtrack makes me feel like I’m in the movie Hackers. What a simultaneously great and terrible movie. Call me a cynical old man, but I’ve never been totally “down” with keeping [...] -
E3 2010: Hands-on with the surprisingly good AAA: Heroés del Ring
Posted on June 16, 2010 | No CommentsRather than use E3 to pile on the mountains and mountains of hype of the big-bidget titles, I've elected to sprinkle through our coverage the small little gems that might otherwise go unnoticed. First on the docket is AAA: Héores del Ring a lucha libre (Mexican-style higly-flying pro-wrestling) game that'll hit your Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PSP on August 10 of this year. I had some quality time with it this morning and I can say this: I left the booth absolutely shocked at how thorough the game is.

Spain’s David Villa: That second goal against Poland was something out of a video game
Posted on June 9, 2010 | No CommentsContinuing with our (well, my) nearly non-stop World Cup coverage! Spain beat Poland yesterday 6-0 in Murcia. It was an awesome display, and an illustration of why Spain are the favorites to win the tournament. And yes, there is a tech connection~! That second goal, my word...

WWE finally has a YouTube account (and with full episodes)
Posted on June 8, 2010 | No CommentsI must be seeing things... is that an official WWE YouTube page, and one that already has last night's episode of Monday Night Raw online? This is so unlike WWE, embracing technology. They must have hired someone new in recent weeks, someone who told them that, you know, the Internet isn't merely for “geeks” anymore.

Video: Yes, that’s Crysis 2 running on the Xbox 360
Posted on June 8, 2010 | No CommentsPart of the draw of Crysis 2 is that it'll run just as well on your Xbox 360 or PS3 as it will on my PC. That's what CryTek, the game's developers, told the gaming press back in April. I saw the Xbox 360 version in action that day, and yeah: it looks insane for an Xbox 360 game; hard to believe it's running on five-year-old hardware. But now you can look at the game in action for yourself~!

Posted on June 4, 2010 | No CommentsAwesome video is awesome? Yes, yes it is. Something smashed into Jupiter a few hours ago, and an amateur astronomer caught the event on video. Video: Nike proves once and for all the world needs a bearded Rooney
Posted on May 21, 2010 | No CommentsWe’re about three weeks away from the beginning of the World Cup. You know this because I’ve mentioned it over and over again since 2008. Fancy Adidas this, super-advanced Nike that. And so on. Today’s edition: a three-minute Nike advert that was directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (of “Babel” fame). Even if you have no [...] -
Video: This is a 22-megapixel MacBook Pro
Posted on May 21, 2010 | No CommentsAnd I thought my new monitor was fancy! (It certainly cost enough...) Here we have a plain ol' MacBook Pro using a series of 28 projectors to create a 22-megapixel display. That works out to 7168x3072. Borderline insane, yes.

Apple doesn’t accept cash at the Apple Store, not even for an iPad
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No CommentsA human interest story, brought to us by the fine people at KGO-TV in San Francisco. It goes something like this: a woman had saved up for a very long time to buy an Apple iPad. So goes into an Apple Store, tells the clerk that she'd like to buy an iPad, then whips out the requisite $600. Six-hundred in cash, mind you. Then the Apple clerk drops a bombshell: sorry, but we don't accept cash here.

Video: This is the Red Dead Redemption launch trailer
Posted on May 13, 2010 | No CommentsOnce upon a time I heard an EA so-and-so, in a totally unofficial capacity, say something to the effect of “western games never sell.” I guess we’ll find out soon enough with the release of Red Dead Redemption. This is the official launch trailer. Will the game be as big as Grand Theft Auto? Maybe not, [...] -
