Hands-on with the new Leica line: Sexytime
Posted on May 6, 2010 | No CommentsSay what you want about Leica but they make some beautiful glass and some great cameras. Today I saw the 18-megapixel M9 (New Yorkers take note: Leica will have loaner units at the New York Photo Festival), the 12-megapixel X1, and the brand new V-LUX 20. I didn’t get a chance to shoot much but [...] -
Sony Ericsson confirms WinMo 6.5 isn’t coming to the X1
Posted on November 19, 2009 | No Comments
We can understand not investing in a deprecated product, we really can -- but when you consider the fact that Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 is still sold around the world, the fact that its hardware is still thoroughly modern, and the fact that Windows Mobile 6.5 is a trivial boost over 6.1, there's really no excuse for this. Sony Ericsson has gone ahead and made it official that it won't be providing an official 6.5 upgrade for its uber-pricey fallen smartphone that never quite achieved its seemingly stratospheric potential -- and its 6.5-based replacement isn't looking much more promising -- so we imagine this is going to spark a voracious run on hackery to get picture-perfect 6.5 builds working on units in the field. Oh, wait, that already happened! No worries, Sony Ericsson -- looks like we've got this one covered then.Sony Ericsson confirms WinMo 6.5 isn't coming to the X1 originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 19 Nov 2009 22:35:00 EST. The Leica M9 leaks out early which is probably for the best
Posted on September 7, 2009 | No Comments
Leica has a big event scheduled for this Wednesday where the M9 was likely going to be announced. But it just so happens that Apple also has a presser booked for the same day, along with a bunch of companies at the audio video expo, CEDIA. So it's probably best for Leica that a Photography Bay tipster sent the site an official-looking brochure that lists all the specs of unannounced M9.

The retrotastic Leica M9 and X1 get pictured, specs found
Posted on September 2, 2009 | No Commentsmmhmmm. Leica’s got our number. That’s for sure. We love ourselves some retro rangefinders and it looks like the next two Leica digicams will follow that style. These pics came from two Flickr pages that were eventually pulled. If the specs listed turn out to be correct, a lot of shutterbugs are going to max [...]
Finally. It seems like there have been a dozen leaks about the
