HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Emerging Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EHSI) disclosed today that their first comprehensive medical iPhone Application module named MedAnywhere HHC has entered the final phase of development. MedAnywhere is an iPhone application that contains several modules that are designed to reduce patient costs and allow direct physician monitoring. The MedAnywhere HHC module is scheduled for submission to iTunes by mid-September. VITEB is EHSI’s development partner on the MedAnywhere projects.
HHC is the disease that occurs as a result of significant iron overload and it can have genetic or non-genetic causes. HHC can cause major damage to the heart, liver, pancreas, joints and pituitary. If the extra iron is not removed, these organs can become diseased. Untreated Hemochromatosis can be fatal. Traditionally, HHC treatment requires numerous costly visits to the lab for blood work and expensive phlebotomy treatments performed at hospitals. The MedAnywhere© HHC module is being configured to allow a customer’s Hematocrit levels to be monitored by a doctor via the iPhone. As a result, customers are able to be directed by their doctor to have phlebotomy treatments done at blood donor centers, which usually perform the treatment for no charge. The MedAnywhere© HHC module is designed to allow many patient/customers to realize savings of thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars as a result.
Emerging Healthcare Solutions is developing the MedAnywhere app and modules for use on Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone prior to developing the project for Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android and Research in Motion’s (NASDAQ: RIMM) BlackBerry devices. Emerging Healthcare Solutions focuses on the development of profitable emerging medical technology, a sector that also includes Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN).
