NEW ORLEANS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sales predictions for Apple’s iPhone 4 and forthcoming iPhone 5 have GoSolarUSA even more excited about the prospects for its new iPhone accessory, the Volt Solar Charger.

“Thanks to the smartphone revolution, the Volt may have a chance to introduce clean, renewable energy into the daily lives of millions”

On Monday, Asymco analyst Horace Dediu predicted that Apple’s current-generation iPhone 4 smartphone handset will likely sell around 60-65 million units in total. Sales of its future successor, the iPhone 5, could nearly double that amount, he said. Dediu based his predictions on Apple’s historical iPhone sales figures, iPhone production ramps and market growth patterns. Through the first four generations of the iPhone, he said, each new version of the groundbreaking device sells roughly twice as many units as the last.

Dediu’s bold prediction was good news for GoSolarUSA. The company is counting on demand from a massive number of iPhone users to drive interest in its Volt Solar Charger, a new iPhone accessory that keeps the smartphone’s battery charged using a built-in solar panel. The Volt includes a 1500 mAh battery, allowing the accessory to nearly double the iPhone’s talk time. It is the only battery pack known to GSLO that’s capable of powering the iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 all with the same device.

“If Asymco’s predictions are correct, Apple will maintain its smartphone market share, developing a huge pool of iPhone users to whom the Volt may be marketed,” said GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde. “65 million is an astounding number of iPhone 4 buyers, and the potential sales figures for the forthcoming iPhone 5 are truly staggering. If the Volt performs as we expect, a future version compatible with the iPhone 5 appears likely.”

The world’s largest tech company, Apple has sold more than 100 million iPhone handsets worldwide. Apple enjoyed an outstanding FY 2011 First Quarter, with iPhone sales, services and accessories accounting for $10.468 billion—up 88 percent. GSLO is the exclusive distributor of the Volt in North America, the largest iPhone accessory market in the world. The company initiated mass production of the Volt Solar Charger in China last month in anticipation of the solar gadget’s North American debut. The first shipment is expected to arrive in the U.S. within the next three weeks.

“Thanks to the smartphone revolution, the Volt may have a chance to introduce clean, renewable energy into the daily lives of millions,” Rohde said.

GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The Volt Solar Charger is a product of Xiamen Solar Electronics based in Xiamen, China. The iPhone is a product of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), which competes in the global smartphone market against Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:MMI) and Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM).
