
Like the Sky deal before it, Xbox 360 users in France will soon be able to view Canal+ content on their TV set. Users will have access to some 3,000 movies on demand and eventually Ligue 1 soccer.
Microsoft is doing this to broaden the appeal of the Xbox 360 beyond the type of person who will spend hours playing Fallout 3 despite the fact that it’s the same damn thing over and over again—press RB, select the opponent’s head, pull the R trigger, then off you go.
Again, I’d like to see a deal with Fox or ESPN or something. There’s no reason to subscribe to cable TV anymore, other than for live sports. I could have used that last year, that’s for sure.
