MAINGEAR, a system builder based out of New Jersey announced an update to their Prelude line, with the Prelude 2. Using the Intel Core i7 CPU, and a Samsung 22″ monitor, the Prelude 2 is intended to be used with Nvidia’s 3D Vision tech, and in fact comes bundled with it.
The base unit is priced at $1999.99, and includes a 2.66GHz CPU, GeForce 9800 GT video card, a 250 gig hard drive and (I’m guessing, they forgot to mention) 2 gigs of ram. It comes preloaded with Vista Home Premium, which is not the ideal gaming OS, but currently the best available.
Built into a Lian-Li case, it does look nice, but time will tell if the build quality is there. We’re hoping to get a review system in the near future, and I’ll report back after I have a chance to try it out.
