This battery-powered lawn mower almost makes me wish I still had a lawn to mow. Almost. Vermont-based Neuton has apparently been selling the $399 CE 5 and $499 CE 6 models for a year or so now but this is the first I’ve heard of them. Anyone out there have one of these?

The CE 5 is good for 1/4 acre on a single charge while the CE 6 can handle yards up to 1/3 acre in size. The battery takes about 12 hours to recharge and you can buy extra batteries for $89 to $99, depending on capacity. Call me crazy, but $399 to $499 for a lawn mower that needs no gas or oil and doesn’t make quite as much noise actually seems like a good deal.

There is, of course, the big question: is it powerful enough to mow tough grass? The below video makes it appear that, yes, it is.
