Oh for the love of God, don’t we have better things to do than legislate whether or not kids are playing video games that feature “stereotypical” characters? Apparently not in New York state we don’t!
There’s a bill currently floating around Albany (sponsored by Assemblyman Keith L.T. Wright, a Manhattan Democrat, seen here) that:
Prohibits the sale to minors of certain rated video games containing a rating that reflects content of various degrees of profanity, racist stereotypes or derogatory language, and/or actions toward a specific group of persons.
I can’t even articulate how annoying this. Let’s raise our kids in a bubble so that their feelings are never, ever hurt!
