ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pantech Wireless, Inc. (PWI), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Pantech Group, today announced that four of the biggest names in Skateboarding and BMX – Bucky Lasek, Brett Banasiewicz, Ryan Decenzo and Greg Lutzka – will compete as Team Pantech on behalf of the mobile phone manufacturer during the summer Dew Tour. These athletes are among the most recognized in their respective sports and were chosen to represent the brand on the strength of their athleticism and positive impact on action sports. Beginning with the Pantech Open in Ocean City, MD, (July 21-24) the athletes of Team Pantech will hang with fans onsite at the Pantech Skate Lounge and at select AT&T COR stores. Pantech is a title sponsor of the 2011 Dew Tour, a coast-to-coast action sports tour that kicks off in July and concludes in February 2012.
“Pantech has really stepped up to support the action sports community with their commitment to Dew Tour, and I respect that”
“Pantech has really stepped up to support the action sports community with their commitment to Dew Tour, and I respect that,” said skate pro and Dew Tour veteran Bucky Lasek. “I need a durable, high quality phone that can keep up with my crazy lifestyle, but I don’t want to sacrifice any cool features. Pantech’s phones do that for me. In fact, Crossover is a perfect example of that.”
Pantech Skate Lounge
Dew Tour attendees will have a chance to hang with the athletes and interact with the brand at the Pantech Skate Lounge, located onsite at the Festival Village. In addition to meeting the athletes at designated times throughout the weekend and collecting autographs, visitors will listen to music, power-up their phones at cell phone charging stations, check out the skateboard art gallery, and play games for a chance to win prizes.
At the lounge, attendees can also get a look at Crossover – a sporty Android phone with a full sliding keyboard and touch screen, designed for users needing a cool and customizable phone to fit their life on the move. Also onsite will be two of Pantech’s latest phones, Pursuit II and breEZe III, both of which are brand new to stores this week.
“We’re thrilled to have such an impressive group of athletes associated with the brand,” said Erin Magee, director of channel marketing at Pantech. “So many of our customers look up to these guys for inspiration. For those who can’t make it out to Dew Tour, users can meet Team Pantech when they visit select AT&T stores throughout the summer.
