The Cloudbook by Everex: It was one of the first netbooks released back in the wild and crazy days of 2008. But it didn’t start off on the right foot. Everex delayed the Cloudbook a few times and early reviews told a sad story, but it was eventually sold at Walmart. We never heard of anyone actually buying one though, but we’re sure someone out there probably did. Anyway, the company is done per a short message on the website.
One has to wonder if this is the beginning of the end for a lot of the random netbook makers now that the big boys of Asus, Acer, HP, and Dell are serious about cashing in on the market. We’re told that everyone wants a netbook, but something tells us that isn’t exactly the case and the actual market probably isn’t big enough for small players like Everex, Cherrypal, Coby, and Mouse – at least not in the US market, that is.
