The Nintendo 3DS won’t be called the 3DS

This is strange. Apparently Nintendo has yet to announce the formal name of its upcoming portable 3D gaming device. That means the clever 3DS name we've come to know isn't the real thing. But seriously, is there a name better than 3DS seeing as it's a 3D version of the DS? Unless it's nothing like the DS...maybe this wasn't a fan-made mock-up after all.

We don't usually announce blog launches but this one is pretty much beauty: it's PlasticAxe, a blog about music gaming. Granted he'll probably run out of stuff to write about on day 10, but Joe Rybicki, formerly of 1UP and a bunch of other gaming sites and magazines, has melded his love of music gaming with his love of Wordpress templates and created a niche blog to end all niche blogs.

Natal to launch with new Xbox 360 console?

Start up the rumor engine, ladies and gentlemen. 1UP.com is reporting that Microsoft's Project Natal may actually be shipping integrated into a new console next fall. From the sounds of it, though, the console won't be new as in different but new as in improved slightly. That is, new games would apparently work on both the current Xbox 360 console and "Xbox Natal" as it's being unofficially called.
