Video: LG Panther WinPho 7 phone starts up for all to see

Would ya looky here! Looks like someone over at Innovative Singapore has posted a video that shows what it would be like to turn on a WinPho 7 phone for the very first time. The device shown in the video (and right here) is the LG Panther, which has been making its way around the webs for a little while now. It seems that LG will ditch the "Panther" monicker for a much more memorable "GW910", which is an issue I'll be taking up with their marketers directly.

Samsung i8920 Omnia HD2 leaking its way across the net as we speak

Samsung's successor to the Symbian-powered i8910 (aka OmniaHD) has just bust its pipes, and is now leaking all over the internet (too soon?). The leaks thus far point to a 4" Super AMOLED screen, a 12MP camera with both Xenon and LED flash (why not?), 30fps 720p video recording (just like its older sibling), and 16 or 32 GB internal storage, all running atop Symbian^3. Oh, and it also includes the soon-to-be-standard-on-high-end-phones WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.

New Japanese soccer robot shows the way to human-less sports is still long

The "RoboCup Japan Open 2010" [JP] is currently taking place in Osaka, and the world's biggest robot soccer tournament has attracted 225 teams from all over the world this time. Started in 1997, the official goal of the RoboCup is to have a team of humanoids play and defeat a team comprised of human soccer players during a "real" world soccer cup sometime around 2050. But judging from what we can see currently, there is still a long way to go. Take the humanoid you can see on the picture and in the video embedded below, for example. It's taking part in the RoboCup 2010 Humanoid League's adult size class, meaning it competes against other robots that stand between 130 and 160cm tall.

LG Aloha/LU2300 Android QWERTY Will Launch on Verizon as “Ally”

I know I'm not alone in my lust for decent phones with QWERTY keypads. While I've been thoroughly enjoying the company of my touch-screen-only HTC Hero for 7 months now, I must admit that I am looking at other (more well endowed) phones while Hero's back is turned. But you know what? She's ok with that. I guess that's why we work so well together... even though I dream of the days where I could type without looking at the keyboard. ...and along comes Ally...

For a long time, if you wanted to take advantage of Boost Mobile’s $50 Monthly Unlimited plan, you had to put up with a few disadvantages. The biggest, of course, was the fact that you were stuck using their sketchy iDEN network. Not only that, you had to do it with a handset that was [...]

Rumor: Looks like AT&T might be getting the Samsung Galaxy S, or something just like it

Samsung has been teasing the gadget-loving world ever since the announcement of the Galaxy S back at CTIA. "It's Android-powered!" they'd say. "4.0-inch Super AMOLED screen!" they'd say. "Oh, you want to know what carrier its going to? Oh. Well, that's a bummer." they'd say. Unless we're looking too hard into these freshly released Bluetooth Certification papers, it looks like one of the carriers getting the Galaxy S -- or at least a very Galaxy S-esque phone -- will be AT&T.
