Acer preps its second-gen Android/Win netbook
Posted on April 1, 2010 | No Comments
Not long after Acer announced last year that it was launching an Android netbook did the company unveile the first-of-its-kind Acer Aspire One D250. Then just yesterday Acer’s mobile product manager Martino Mombrini let slip that an updated model is on its way. The D260, like its predecessor, will also be able to dual boot Android and Windows. Not much else is currently known about this netbook, except that the chassis is getting a redesign. But wait, there's more.

We don't know the price just yet, but in case the 1825PT is a bit too rich for you, there's always the lower-end 1825PTZ.

Target will be running a special Sunday-to-Wednesday circular this weekend full of pre-Black Friday deals. Most of the deals are okay, if unspectacular – 32-inch LCD TV for $398, $20 giftcard with Wii system purchase, etc. – while the 10.1-inch Acer Aspire One netbook ought to sell out pretty quickly at just $199.

Have you guys heard of these “netbook” things? Apparently they’re quite popular nowadays. I'll admit that even though I've been entrenched in the technology industry since I was basically a tickle in my pappy’s sack, this is the first time I've heard about them. On that note, Woot.com is selling refurbished 10.1-inch Acer Aspire One netbooks for $230 (today only).

How-to: Expand the storage capacity of an Acer Aspire easyStore with eSATA
Posted on September 11, 2009 | No Comments
Some people - especially those that have a 100Mbps connection - can actually fill up one an Acer Aspire easyStore WHS. But for some reason, the stock eSATA port doesn't support port multiplication so that means you will not able able to use one of those multi-drive eSATA enclosures. Have no fear. There is a solution.

Is the Nokia Booklet 3G just an overpriced netbook? This promo video says so.
Posted on September 2, 2009 | No Comments
Everyone, you can breath easy, the Nokia Booklet 3G is here. It's got an Intel Atom, 120GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, HDMI, and 3G. So why the hell does it cost so much? Nokia has set the price of the 3G model - is there a non-3G model? - at 600 Euros, which is roughly $853 USD. That's a lot for a netbook. Especially for one that's basically a cloned version of the Acer Aspire One 3G 10.1-inch. Even the official promo video doesn't present a strong case of what sets this netbook apart.

Netbook built into SNES, cartridge used as slot-loading DVD drive
Posted on June 16, 2009 | No Comments
Someone has FINALLY answered the age-old question: Is it possible to build an Acer Aspire One netbook into an old Super Nintendo and have optical discs loaded through an old Super Mario World cartridge? The answer is yes. Let's call it the Snespire One, shall we?
The almost over-rumored (see
