Posted on February 8, 2010 | No CommentsThere isn’t much to be said about a few in-the-flesh images leaked about a device we’ve all heard of other than the confirmation of a few things. To start, it looks identical to renders seen in the past, and the images depicted in HTC’s handset line-up which was leaked back in early December. The form factor [...] -
Twas the night before the Creation event, and all through the internet..
Posted on January 27, 2010 | No Comments
Fair warning, this is probably a fake - we all know that people love to prank the night before an Apple event. Some suspected pictures of the iPad have shown up on the net, but it looks fishy to me.

Mad Hurricane: Japan’s new mini assault robot destroys stuff (video)
Posted on December 4, 2009 | No Comments
Japan's robot otaku can soon lay their hands on yet another of those electro-mechanical marvels, but this time the robot isn't cute. No, this new model, made by Tokyo-based robot venture Poseidon, is supposed to be mean for a change. And its name (Mad Hurricane) is pretty bad ass, too.
Mad Hurricane can perform a number of motions: walk in four directions, swirl to the right or left, stand up by himself when he's on his back or face and, most importantly, kick and punch in six variations. Powered by a battery, the robot stands 40cm tall and weighs 2.4kg. It's made of aluminum, has six built-in gyro sensors and a total of 20 joints.

Posted on November 13, 2009 | 1 CommentShort Version: The Alesis DM6 drum kit is a full set of electronic drums that is extremely accessible, yet just as difficult to master as the real thing. In un-packing the box it came in, one thing was immediately clear; this is no kid’s toy. This is a nine-piece set (10, if you include the [...] -
The HyperMac will charge your Mac notebook and iPhone off the grid
Posted on November 3, 2009 | No Comments
The HyperMac from Koyono aims to keep your notebook and iPhone charged when you don't have access to a power outlet. If they had swappable batteries, this wouldn't be an issue. Apple, however, decided that no one actually wants to change batteries on the go anymore; that's a last gen feature. That's fine. The HyperMac looks like it should get the job done.

Review: mStand by Rain Design
Posted on October 5, 2009 | No CommentsHere at TechCrunch HQ, almost all of us have laptops, with some connecting their laptops to an external display. In my case, I use a 15" Unibody MacBook Pro connected to a 22" Gateway display. I have always gone by the theory that the more real estate space you have, the more productive you are. To keep both displays level, I've been trying out number laptop stands; anywhere from paper stacked on top of each other, to cardboard, but it seems like the best laptop stand for my Mac is the mStand from Rain Design. The mStand is designed for the MacBook and MacBook Pro, yet it works with all laptops. The mStand is made of a single solid piece of aluminum that matches MacBook Pro's silver anodized finish.

Review: Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom
Posted on July 25, 2009 | No Comments
We actually have two reviews in one in this case; the Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom, and the optional ballhead mount. Do I recommend you trust your expensive camera gear to this device? Simply put, yes. I have a Nikon D300, and I put my precious on the Gorillapod with it's 18-200mm lens on it, and it didn't buckle.

And here we have yet another Apple tablet rumor to be bandied about all the livelong day. According to Gizmodo, "a source that has always been 100% reliable" says that Apple may be working on 13- and 15-inch tablets (aside from just the rumored 10-inch one) and that one of those tablets was seen running a full-fledged version of OS X 10.5.
Look at that photo. All of that is edible, and likely delicious. The mouse, the iPhone, the MacBook Pro, all of it. The pens, the Post-It notes, the mouse pad, all made of sweet, sweet cake.
