iPhone 4: One man’s heroic video journey

The iPhone 4 comes out today. I knew when I woke up this morning I felt a disturbance in the Force! Anyway, John Biggs, noted gumshoe, is en route to the fancy Apple store in Manhattan to pick up his very own device, and he's been been sending us surprisingly funny video updates of his journey. Come, let us view these videos over a spot of tea.

UK misses out on Nike World Cup ad, Rooney red-hot with anger (maybe)

That Nike World Cup ad I mentioned the other day has aired, I think, 800 million times over the past few days on TV. I know I saw it at least once during the Champions League final at the weekend (which Inter thoroughly deserved to win). But get this: the very first time the ad aired in the UK the final six seconds of the ad never made it on the air! Someone's getting fired...

  • Switzerland approaches complete ban on violent video games

Switzerland approaches complete ban on violent video games

That's funny, not one hour ago I mentioned that Australia had embraced the idea that adults have the capacity to make decisions vis-à-vis buying violent video games. Good ol' Switzerland, though, the darling of Europe, has passed a law essentially outlawing violent video games. I'd feign, well, not anger, but something, but it's Switzerland: how can you get mad at those guys?

Atari and Cryptic anger the people who bought Star Trek Online at launch

Remember Star Trek Online? Yeah, it came out waaaaay back on February 2nd of 2010. Well, it's Cryptic's game, but it's published by Atari, and since there maybe hasn't been the level of interest everyone was looking for, they are running a sale. It's a pretty good deal too, since you get the game for $10 off (which isn't so bad) and you an additional 60 days of free gameplay (which is the frustrating part). That's a total of 90 days of free play, including the 30 days that come with the purchase of the game. That seems really unfair to the players who pre-ordered or bought the game when it first came out.

AT&T to Fake Steve: Go on, punk, make my day

It's he said/she said time, where maybe like Fake Steve is the She and maybe like AT&T is the he. So like Fake Steve was all like "Let's send nasty texts about AT&T! And then we'll mess with them on Friday." And then AT&T is all like "No way! Nobody does that to me!" Hilarity ensues!

  • Get you some Mojo (SDK for WebOS)

Get you some Mojo (SDK for WebOS)

Get some sweet, sweet Palm Mojo early. It's basically the SDK for WebOS and it just showed up on the interwebs. Most interesting, however, is the lengths folks will go not to anger the Palm Gods:
Currently, no word on whether or not Palm is okay with this, and we can’t imagine that they are thrilled, so download at your own risk. Depending on how this one goes, we may have to pull all the links if Palm requests (we’re all for the sharing of information, but we want to help Palm, not destroy them). If they feel leaking the SDK early is only detrimental to them as a company, then we will remove the URLs.
