Are you a citizen of the Roc Nation? Well, then your passport is these Skullcandy headphones
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No CommentsSkullcandy has officially announced the availability of their Roc Nation Aviator headphones, the only headphones officially sanction by Jay Z. Jay Z is a rapper who raps about, among other things, his 99 problems, New York, and detritus under your ear. The headphones actually look quite cool and they’re completely portable. You also have a mic [...] -
Drummer Hero for the Wii is powered by Arduino

Jazari has constructed this very elaborate solenoid/Arduino rig to play a myriad of instruments, all with two Wiimotes. Sure beats playing percussion in band back in high school. [BoingBoing] -

Wearing your beats on your wrist drum machine
Posted on January 19, 2010 | No Comments
I suspect this would have been the watch that Herbie Hancock wore when he made his famous "Rockit" video. Back in the early 1980's, Seiko was trying to put everything from TV's to radio's into watches, and along with those ill advised choices, they also made the drum machine watch. Ugly and over priced, the watch never caught on with the public.

The Beat Thang Music Production System.
Posted on December 15, 2009 | No Comments
Remember when using z's on the end of plural words instead of s's was edgy and revolutionary? Well, apparently no one told Beat Kangz Electronics that that time has passed. Misguided syntax choices aside, Beat Kangz has just announced the release of their new Beat Thang music production system. Not only does it look like something the Covenant would use, it comes in either software form or with its own dedicated hardware.

Verizon’s LG Chocolate Touch skips on the BL40 influence
Posted on November 5, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, LG, Verizon Wireless, EV-DO, CDMA
We've suspected it for a while, and now it's 100 percent confirmed: Verizon's latest Chocolate device, the Chocolate Touch, takes absolutely zero influence from the lovely BL40 with which it shares a name. That said, it definitely seems to continue the Chocolate line's music-oriented tradition with an integrated FM radio, dedicated music key, stereo Bluetooth, equalization tech from Dolby Mobile, and a curious "Join the Band" function that lets you add in your own beats to the music with a full on-screen drum kit. It's got a 3.2 megapixel cam, full touch display, and for the impatient among us, the best news might be that it's available today -- yes, today -- for $79.99 on contract after rebate.Verizon's LG Chocolate Touch skips on the BL40 influence originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Thu, 05 Nov 2009 09:15:00 EST. Hey, disco party people, how about some Windows 7 commercials?
Posted on September 25, 2009 | No CommentsIt’s not a Windows 7 Party without some tunes, right? Thankfully Microsoft has created a set of commercials with catchy beats, nice visuals, and no stilted, low-paid actors apparently preparing to get it on in the worst Cinemax late night movie ever. Enduserblog has all of the videos for your perusal but I picked out a [...] -
Heartbeats by Lady Gaga: Garish headphones for the pop star in you
Posted on September 7, 2009 | No CommentsSay what you will about Dr. Dre, but the man is a hip-hop legend. Say what you will about Lady Gaga, but she's terrible. So you can either consider the fact that “Heartbeats by Lady Gaga” was just announced as one of two things: a callous cash grab, attempting to earn (?) more money while Lady Gaga is still popular, or... no, that's the only reason these things exist.
