Thank you papa Sony for the HDMI
Posted on June 3, 2010 | No Comments
There is nothing worse then getting home after buying a PS3 - for use as a Blu-ray - and realizing no one told you the box comes missing one important item. If this happened to you, then you know how it felt to watch a Blu-ray through component because Sony decided to skip out on the HDMI cable.

There will be a Mass Effect movie. Will Lost’s Matthew Fox play Commander Shepard?
Posted on May 25, 2010 | No CommentsIt's takes a special type of nerd to read a video game's novelization, and I'm none too proud to say that I recently started reading the Mass Effect novel. But there's a certain quiet dignity in reading a novelization that simply isn't present when sitting at the multiplex (or downloading the Blu-ray rip, as it were) watching a movie. Get ready: EA has sold the movie rights to Mass Effect, and it's gone to Legendary Pictures, the same people behind The Dark Knight, Watchmen, and The Hangover. So there's hope the movie won't be total dross.

Would America support a national broadband tax or is that too ‘big government’?
Posted on May 20, 2010 | No CommentsThe Cousins were mulling over a broadband tax, but the new Government has put a stop to that. (Now they're considering using some of the BBC license fee to fund broadband development.) The idea was to charge people 50p (around $0.70) per month to fund the expansion of broadband into rural areas. Would such a move work here in the U.S.? Would you be willing to pay, say, $1 per month, paying toward some sort of Broadband Fund, to ensure that people in the middle of nowhere have access to reliable broadband? What's more American than wanting to help your neighbors?

Posted on April 29, 2010 | No CommentsCall me crazy, but wasn't the point of Avatar to go see it in 3D on the big screen? Otherwise, why bother? Be that as it may, Avatar is on track to hold the distinction of being the most pirated Blu-ray release of all time. Nice job, guys!

Stargate Universe Season 1.5 Blu-ray is announced
Posted on March 30, 2010 | No Comments
The second half of SGU's first season starts this Friday. We already know it should be a good one thanks to the MGM teaser showing off that ugly baddie. But some crazy fans might hold off until June 13 when the Blu-ray is released sans all the commericals and probably with high-quality picture and sound. But that's not me.

Wherein the LOTR Blu-ray is compared against HD broadcasts and deemed inferior

The Lord of the Ring Blu-ray discs will be released on April 6, but a few lucky nerds already have access to it. And they don't like what they see.
Best Buy's bargain brand,

What do you get when you combine the
