First iPhone 4 units being delivered

Aw, suki suki now! Looks like we've got our first iPhone 4 delivery here in the US, a full 24 hours before the first batch is supposed to land. The best news isn't that throngs of pre-orderers are seeing their units "out for delivery" today, but that this Mac Rumors user was able to activate his unit already in seamless fashion. 'Course, we highly doubt it'll be so easy for everyone else crashing the servers tomorrow and Thursday, but there it is. So, anyone else seeing their iPhone 4 marked as "out for delivery?" Or better still, "in hand?" Give us a shout in comments below.

    [Thanks, Anonymous]

Update: We've moved the FedEx image past the break, as one lucky Mac Rumors member already has his in hand. And so it begins. [Thanks, Adam]

Update 2: A reader has sent us over the above picture of his own brand new iPhone 4, which has only just arrived. [Thanks, Mark!]

  • HTC Aria for AT&T hands-on

    HTC Aria for AT&T hands-on

We just took delivery of AT&T's brand new Aria from HTC, and we have to say, we're kind of tickled -- with the hardware, anyway. It's hard not to smile at the HD Mini-esque design elements, including the faux screws on back, the wild yellow interior, and... well, just the overall mini-ness of it. Seriously, this is a tiny phone; that means that eschewing WVGA in favor of HVGA isn't an issue, but it also means that effectively using the on-screen keyboard could be. On that note, the jury's still out on whether this phone is any good for day-to-day use -- and whether it has any chops as a legit Android device -- but stay tuned for our review coming up!

The Sony NEX-5 is available right now in the UK

Don't look now, but a UK retailer has the the brand-spanking-new Sony NEX-5 cameras in stock. We can't say that about a single US-based seller right now so this seems like the best bet if you must be the first kid on the block with Sony's latest camera. Of course this previledge comes at a premium as the camera is selling for £589 ($867), which is a tad more than the US's MSRP of $650. Worth it? Hells yeah it is! You're reading a gadget blog, what side do you expect us to endorse?

Sirius XM Android app hits the Market

That's right, we're downloading the brand new Sirius XM app to our favorite, not-at-all-fragmented Android handset as we speak. Sure, we don't actually have a paid satellite radio subscription, but if you hit up the source link you can sign up for 7 days free while you multitask it up against Robo Defense on your own phone. There's no mention on the download page of specific handset compatibility, so let us know if you have any trouble running the app on that Motoblur phone your mom bought you.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Common Cents Mobile becomes Sprint’s latest prepaid brand, exclusive to Walmart

Common Cents Mobile becomes Sprint’s latest prepaid brand, exclusive to Walmart

That new prepaid business for the anti-power user crowd that Sprint was fixing to launch? Yeah, it's here and it's official: meet Common Cents Mobile. Billed as a way to help folks "cut unnecessary costs," Common Cents Mobile is about as simple as it gets, offering pay-as-you-go 7-cent minutes and 7-cent text messages, plus unlimited messaging for $20 a month and data for $1 per megabyte per day. The bigger news, though, might be that voice minutes round down, which is a first in the US market as far as we know (in other words, frugal customers will want to make sure they hang up 59 seconds into the minute). As you might expect, the handset selection is bare-bones and easy on the pocketbook, consisting of the LG 101 at $19.77, the Samsung M340 at $39.77, and Kyocera's portrait QWERTY S2300 coming in at $69.77 -- all totally contract-free, of course. Look for these all to launch in select Walmarts across the land starting this Saturday, May 15. Follow the break for the full press release.

Leaked: HTC Incredible caught in its Verizon colors, specs confirmed

Verizon's not going to be too happy about this one. From everyone we've spoken to, they really wanted to keep details surrounding the Android-powered HTC Incredible underwraps for a while longer. That's understandable, given that the Incredible blows their current flagship Android device, the Motorola Droid, to smithereens on just about every count. Alas, all it takes is one device to slip into the wrong hands -- and fortunately for us, it has! A bunch of new shots of the HTC Incredible (with brand new, Verizon-brand-friendly colors) have just leaked out, and a gaggle of spec details came with it.
