What’s Missing From iPhone 4 Is Part Of What Makes It Great
Posted on June 10, 2010 | No Comments
On Monday, Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 4. After playing around with it for 20 minutes or so after the keynote, I can safely say that it's the most impressive mobile device I've ever seen. But plenty of people (many of which have never used the phone) disagree. Their arguments are mainly predicated on what Apple didn't include rather than what it did. But what those people fail to understand is that this is exactly what makes the new iPhone (as well as the previous iterations) so solid.
During his keynote address on Monday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs noted that while Apple may not be the first to release features, they do so in a way that's the best implementation. Many people view this as absolute bullshit. But what that implies is that they think Apple simply cannot get features done in time -- or that they will not do them for some reason. I have a hard time believing either of those is the case.

Posted on January 31, 2010 | No Comments
Ahh Steve. You can always be depended on to serve up a healthy dose of crazy. It's just fortunate that people put up with your own special brand of crazy that no other CEO could put up with. For example, at a company wide Town Hall, Steve Jobs had some very special things to say about Adobe and Google and their business practices.

Steam has many deals for you to peruse
Posted on November 27, 2009 | No CommentsInterrupting your Thanksgiving Day weekend (and my Team Fortress 2 Sniper marathon) with a quick deal that will appeal to many of you (I should hope). You know Steam, right, Valve's digital distribution deal? There's a crazy, multi-day Black Friday sale going on right now that includes Left 4 Dead 2 at $37.99 (25 percent off the regular price) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for $2.49 (75 percent off the regular price). A vanilla bullshit at Starbucks costs more than that.

WTF: College student faces up to 10 years in prison for modding game consoles
Posted on August 3, 2009 | No CommentsThis is just ridiculous. Doesn’t the federal government have better things to do than track down college kids who mod their game consoles? Seriously. Matt Crippen, a 27-year-old CSU-Fullerton student has been indicted on two counts of violating the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. He faces up to 10 years in prison for modding his (and [...]
