The Playstation Move is a Wii clone – but it’s awesome
Posted on June 16, 2010 | No CommentsThe Playstation Move is just what it looks like: a Wii clone. It feels the same, looks the same, and works the same. That’s a good thing, though. Everyone and their grandmother has played Wii bowling and knows how it works. Sony isn’t reinventing motion control with the Move. They are, however, seriously improving it. A [...] -
iPhone 4 gets KIRFy with an antenna
Posted on June 2, 2010 | No CommentsWe're sort of loving the fact that Apple's next-gen iPhone is already being KIRFed up, and although we've already seen a couple clumsy attempts at beating Apple to market with a clone of its own product, this lovely GPS-PHONE raises the bar by adding in a telescopic antenna. What's it for? We have no idea. We just know we want one.iPhone 4 gets KIRFy with an antenna originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 02 Jun 2010 10:22:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

The top seven iPad knockoffs
Posted on May 28, 2010 | No Comments
Either you lead or follow and Chinese manufacturing houses have been chasing Apple's designs for years. The iPad is just their latest victim. You can't blame them, really. It's the hottest device since the rotary phone.
We've seen a steady stream of clones flowing onto the web for months. Here's the seven best starting with the just-found iPed.

Inkia’s iPad clone, inPad, gets spec’d out
Posted on May 24, 2010 | No Comments
The Inkia inPad is a shameless iPad clone right down to the bezel and name. We first spotted the clone a few weeks back but hardware details didn't accompany the pictures. Basically, a Chinese manufacturer got our attention by photocoping the iPad and installed Android. But we've kind of lost interest now that we know what's on the inside.

HTC Diamond 2 clone dual boots Android and Windows Mobile 6.5
Posted on May 19, 2010 | No CommentsSee that? That’s Android 1.6 (or “Andriod”, it seems) and Windows Mobile 6.5, on the same HTC Diamond 2(ish phone). Sure, it’s a knock-off made in China — and sure, it may very well explode into a fiery ball of death mere inches from your face. But if you’re worried about that, than you’re just [...] -
The Lenovo Q nettop series gets a makeover, should look at home under your HDTV
Posted on May 10, 2010 | No Comments
Lenovo's previous nettop entry was just your standard Mac Mini-clone, encased in a drab black box. But the just-announced Q150 shouldn't have any issues standing out from the crowd. Forget about the sleek exterior, it's the included bitch'n Lenovo wireless keyboard/mouse that will please the masses [of nerds].

Send in the clones: Shanzhai’s version of the Nokia C2 is out there
Posted on May 5, 2010 | No CommentsThere’s been rumors floating around about the existence of a Nokia C2, but there really hasn’t been any kind of reliable siting, and a phone with a rotatable screen just seems a bit off. That doesn’t stop the knockoffs from coming out of Shanzhai though, and they’ve already made a clone. No pricing or availability [...] -
This iPad clone packs Android 2.1, 10-inch screen, and a 1Ghz Cortex-A8 CPU
Posted on May 3, 2010 | No Comments
iPad clones are hitting the scene at such a rapid pace that we simply can't keep track of all them. Most of them aren't worth your time but this boy is turning heads with specs to die for. Within the clearly iPad-inspired bezel is a 1Ghz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, 512GB or RAM, 10-inch 1024x600 display, and a 2400mAH battery. All that power should run Android 2.1 without breaking a sweat.

Huzzah! The iPhone 4G gets a Chinese clone [update: now with video!]
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsHow many Shanzai does it take to clone the new iPhone? Apparently one and he doesn’t need very long to do it, either. Hot on the heels of the iPhone leak Chinese cloners are already producing iPhone-alikes that look just like the iPhone HD/4G/XXX/]I[. Shenzhai makers in Shenzhen that have the most acute business sense took [...] -
The Leica V-Lux 20 gets official
Posted on April 20, 2010 | No Comments
There isn't much to say here. We already knew that the Leica V-Lux 20 was going to be a DMC-ZS7 clone with the same 12.1 MP 25-300mm lens arrangement, GPS, and 3-inch LCD. And we were really close on the price, too, stating that it would retail for €549 where in fact it's coming with a €499 MSRP. So yeah, there isn't much to say here but you may wanna click through to view a gallery of the sexy matte black shooter.

Chinese clone the iPad, add a keyboard
Posted on April 19, 2010 | No CommentsWell know that’s an abonination. This Chinese crazy pad runs Windows and has a 10-inch screen running an Antom N450 processor. There’s no telling if this thing actually runs or not – the screen looks pretty janky – and there are no prices. I suspect this is a Shanzai unit that may or may not be [...]

You have to admit, that's a good looking clone. Sans the logo up top, it looks nearly identical to the Motorola Droid.
In case you’re having trouble keeping up with all these iPad wannabes, here are a few others we’ve written about:
