Motorola Droid already getting accessorized
Posted on October 20, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Motorola, Verizon Wireless, Accessories
If there's one thing that's sure to break a new Droid owner's heart, it's scratching the hell out of it -- or worse yet, dropping it to its untimely death. Wouldn't that be a tragedy? Of course, one quick and dirty way to avoid a lot of that heartache is to equip your phone with a beefy protective case, and from what we're seeing here, it looks like there won't be any problem whatsoever finding such cases on day one of the Droid's availability (whenever that happens to be). What we've got here is a third-party case (excuse us -- "carrying solution") that's popped up over at Best Buy Mobile, though interestingly, the Droid's model number of A855 is being featured far more prominently than the catchy name itself. Given the look of this thing, we think you'll need to have an extreme dedication to preserving your phone's rugged handsomeness to actually equip it, but hey, more power to you -- meanwhile, we'll carry on with letting our phones rustle around with coins, keys, pens, and switchblades in our pockets.

Party Van!
Posted on October 15, 2009 | No CommentsI imagine most new yorkers are used to the crazy artists than run around the Village. I’m not quite that jaded yet, so I still have to stop and stare at something like this. If you feel like wasting fifteen minutes of your day, come take a look. I was walking next to Washing Square Park [...] -

Generally speaking, the preferred method for procuring a 1UPPower Up iscollecting 100 golden Mario coinsto smash your fist into a giant question mark block. BUT, if you're really in need of a quick (and less painful) pick-me-up, grab yourself a shiny new radish, a paring knife, and maybe a Sharpie (for the eyes?!). Hitachi presents biometric-based vending machine
Posted on July 28, 2009 | No CommentsIt's no secret the Japanese have a penchant for vending machines (even though there are - contrary to popular belief - no machines selling panties in this country). Now Hitachi made one step forward by developing a machine that doesn't need to be fed with coins or bills anymore. Your finger will be enough.

The Future is Now: Metal detecting sandals
Posted on June 9, 2009 | No Comments
If you've ever wished to indulge in the fine art of metal detection but you worry that strolling around the beach waving a big magnetic dish back and forth would make you look dumb, might I suggest these metal detecting sandals from Hammacher Schlemmer? They're sandals attached to what looks like a house arrest anklet. Slightly less dumb-looking and nobody will dare talk to you, leaving you to find your treasure in peace.
