Japanese emoticon stamp is too cute for \(^o^)/
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsThis is one of those products that I look at and cringe. I do realize though, that some people just can’t live without this type of thing. If that describes you, you can get an emoticon stamp to “share your emotion to your lover in real world with a secret”. Apparently this is a “Kaoiro” [...] -
ATI Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition: Are 6 monitors better than 1?
Posted on March 31, 2010 | No CommentsLast week at PAX East, Nvidia showed off for the first time its GTX 480. Reviews were kind, but noted that the card runs at approximately 8 million degrees, and that the performance isn't as crazy as you'd expect for the $500 you're going to pay—an ATI Radeon 5870 is nearly as good, for $100 cheaper. So, make your own decisions! That's part of the fun of PC gaming: spending weeks on Newegg worrying over motherboard combinations and the like. Anyhow, ATI has a new card on the block today, the Radeon HD 5870 Eyfinitiy 6 Edition.

Brushed aluminum ultraportables coming from ASUS
Posted on September 8, 2009 | No Comments
ASUS has officially announced its upcoming UL series of brushed-aluminum ultraportable notebooks based on Intel's new dual-core SU7300 ultra-low voltage CPUs. The UL stands for UnLimited -- and please notice ASUS' trendy use of capitalization there. The notebooks will come in a variety of sizes and weights and some models will feature switchable graphics systems allowing you to use an NVIDIA GeForce G 210M chipset for power-hungry stuff, while falling back on the Intel GS45 chipset for maximum battery life.

Review: Kensington Nightstand Charging Dock for iPhone, iPod Touch
Posted on August 18, 2009 | No Comments
Short Version: If you’ve never purchased a charging dock for your iPhone or iPod Touch and you’re without an alarm clock then the Kensington Nightstand is a perfect alternative for you, friend. Being able to check on the weather first thing in the morning is an added bonus. The $40 price tag might give some of you sticker shock considering the Rise & Shine app is free from the App Store, but a quick look around to other iPhone/iPod accessory vendors quickly reveals that the Nightstand is actually a good deal. If you’re looking to buy a charging dock that is.

iPhone 4.0 could quite possibly not have “life event”-based notifications
Posted on July 2, 2009 | No Comments
Welcome to the world of the future! In the future your iPhone will be able to tell you where you are and then adapt to those locations, turning things on and off (ringer, etc.), changing wallpaper (from Megan Fox to cute kittens in church), and from earth to space when you go on an intergalactic trip to free the citizens of Mars from the evil Cohaagen. Perhaps you ringtone could change to this?
Basically this is a patent for something folks have been thinking about for years - targeted messaging based on time and location. Advertisers would love this but I doubt many of us want to be reminded by our iPhone to turn off our Shout The Devil ringtone while talking to the Dalai Lama.
