White HTC EVO 4G coming exclusively to Best Buy on July 11th, pre-orders start today

Jumpin' Jehosaphat! Just when you thought America's first 4G phone couldn't get any hotter, along comes this: a striking white version of the HTC EVO 4G (so much for that unavailable white iPhone 4, eh?). We've received confirmation that this here handset will be sold exclusively through Best Buy (as in, don't even bother heading to your local Sprint store), with the official launch date set for July 11th. We're told that Sprint will eventually gain access on August 8th, with other retailers snapping it up in September. If you somehow managed to hold off on snagging the existing black EVO 4G, you can get your pre-order in starting on June 18th -- yeah, today, Junior! We're assuming the price will remain at $199.99 on a 2-year contract, but be sure to drop us a line if you wander in and find out otherwise.

Update: And it's official; the presser is after the break confirming the same $199.99-on-a-2-year-contract price as well as the dates mentioned already.

    [Thanks, Anonymous]

Telus teasing a June 8 launch — the HTC Triumph, perhaps?

So the popular rumor going around at the moment is that Telus is on the verge of releasing a Canada-flavored HTC Desire rebranded as the "Triumph," which seems pretty reasonable considering that the carrier has made no effort to launch the Nexus One and undoubtedly wants to pimp as many awesome phones as it can right now to drum up usage of its nascent HSPA network. This all lines up nicely with the fact that Telus' home page is now teasing an "unleashing" on June 8, less than two weeks from today. Sounds like a win -- provided they can keep the three-year contract price in check, of course.

    [Thanks, David]

Cricket’s 2010 product lineup leaks, Kyocera Zio priced and dated

I hadn't realized it until just this second, but it's been way, way too long since we've seen a monstrous carrier leak. I suppose after the heavily-detailed data dumps from the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile in 2009, the carriers have been tightening their grip. Fortunately, that hasn't kept what looks to be the majority of Cricket's 2010 product line up from leaking out.

It's been a crazy ride on the rumor rollercoaster for the Android-powered Motorola Cliq XT. What started out as a mysterious spotting finally became official at Mobile World Congress in February. Then came a series of leaks, each half right: one got the date right, while the other nailed the price.

LG eXpo goes on sale at AT&T, sans projector

Anyone looking for the highest-end Windows Mobile experience you can buy on AT&T, go ahead and form a line to the left, please, because your knight in shining armor has arrived. The LG eXpo -- complete with a Snapdragon core, 5 megapixel camera, 3.2-inch WVGA display, fingerprint scanner, QWERTY slide, and optional microprojector -- is now available, albeit at a $199.99 after-rebate, on-contract price that puts it pretty far into the realm of the high-power smartphone elite. The downside is that the aforementioned projector isn't yet available for purchase, which makes the whole package a little less compelling -- then again, that means you're walking out of the store with $179 that you wouldn't have otherwise had, so just look at your eXpo purchase as a fantastic money-making opportunity.

Palm Pixi one step closer to free, now $25 on Amazon

Start placing your bets folks,'cause it now looks like its almost certainly no longer a question "if" the Palm Pixi will drop to a free-on-contract price, but "when?" The latest stop on the saga is none other than Amazon, which is now offering the webOS-based phone for a mere $24.99 with a service plan, beating Walmart's already bargain price by a full five dollars -- which should be just enough to let you buy a second Pixi next month at the rate things are going.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • SundaySky automates the multimedia e-commerce experience

SundaySky automates the multimedia e-commerce experience

When I was in Israel two weeks ago I sat down with the guys at SundaySky. I need you to bear with me here because the service doesn't sound cool outright but once you realize the power for commerce sites it becomes amazing. Here's how it works: e-commerce sites have lots of products. Take cameras, for example. You have a few set attributes - zoom, megapixels, etc. - and the rest of the incidental information could fit in a paragraph. So SundaySky creates a video using a product image and audio from a pre-recorded pool of preset phrases ("This W camera has X and Y built-in and includes a Zx zoom lens", where all the variables are pre-recorded as well). The rest of the info appears as text in the video. That way you could talk fairly convincingly about an Olympus camera with a set of data from a pre-recorded pool and then add the small stuff as a visual. In this way you can make video out of every single item in your store.

The Palm Pre is now available on Amazon

There is probably a good chance that if you wanted the Palm Pre, you already snagged it at a Sprint store or Best Buy. Amazon now has the smartphone in case though.
