Photos and videos: CrunchGear visits Japan’s biggest Otaku party (CGM Night)
Posted on June 23, 2010 | No Comments
Japan's most famous Otaku culture blogger Danny Choo invited video games/anime/manga/Cosplay/figures/maid cafe fanatics from all over the country last weekend, and about 200 showed up at Digital Hollywood University for the eighth "CGM Night" (here's my report on the last one).
The idea is to bring Otaku and geeks out of their rooms and socialize among people of their kind. Needless to say, I was one of them (I live in Tokyo).

GameStop details in-store DLC service, to be launched in 2010
Posted on November 13, 2009 | No CommentsIt seems the Internet doesn't like GameStop too much, so I'm not sure how this story will be received. The retailer announced at a conference in New York yesterday that it will launch some sort of in-store DLC service next year. That is, let's say you buy Game, then immediately buy related DLC from inside the store via a special interface. (GameStop worked with both Sony and Microsoft to figure all this out.) DIY Werewolf Costume
Posted on October 1, 2009 | No Comments
With All Hallows' Eve creeping up at the end of the month, that means its time to get cracking on your costumes!
Missmonster posted a very elaborate Instructable on how to turn you (or a loved one) into a lycanthrope, complete with fully articulate jaw. Be forewarned, this is a rather complex project. You're pretty much casting the mask out of plaster and resin. But you can't argue with the results.
