Supposed next-gen iPhone cases surface in China

We're not sure if it's a result of some hard information or simply an educated guess, but it looks like the first next-gen iPhone cases (or would-be cases) are now starting to find their way before a camera. The most convincing of those comes courtesy of Hardmac, which received the image above from one of its contacts in China -- a quick search of the model name also reveals the manufacturer, Shenzhen Soonleader Electronic Co, and a few more pics (check them out after the break). As you can see, it has all the right curves, a larger opening for a flash and, if you look really closely, you can see the necessary spaces for the new side buttons. Like we said, this could well just be a case of a manufacturer looking to get a jump start, or it could be... something more.

A look at the next iPhone, as it leaks across the Internet

Today, Gizmodo won at the Internet, and all it took was $10,000. That’s the current price being whispered amongst the blogging circles as what was paid for a prototype of the next iPhone — yep, next, as in the one that isn’t announced yet — purportedly found on the floor of a bar in San [...]

BlackBerry Bold 9700 hands-on and impressions

RIM's successor to the original Bold -- the BlackBerry Bold 9700 -- has finally landed on our doorsteps. The 9000 is in many ways a hard act to follow. Hardware-wise, it lived up to its name, going where most phones never went with its retro, leathery, nearly clunky looks in an age of rounded edges and shiny curves. Don't get us wrong -- we loved the 9000's aesthetics obsessively -- which is why we couldn't wait to get our hands on its newborn child. A few questions we had in mind: would the 9700 live up to its predecessor's notoriously uncompromising fashion sense? Would the new Bold feel as good to hold and use in the hand as its loving parent? How would it stack up against other, new devices from RIM? If these are the kind of questions you think you might want answers to, read on for our impressions.

In which we see a young lady holding the Philips Sensual Massager at IFA

The thing that got the biggest titters at IFA were Philips improved “sensual massagers,” the his and hers HF8400. Interestingly, Philips is straight up saying this is a sex toy and it was on display next to a bed in the Philips booth. Good on them. I haven’t tried it but this young lady sincerely [...]

Quick Look: T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520

Me: A normal guy, no issues, really into BlackBerry Curves. You: A BlackBerry Curve with a similar build quality as the 8900 with a lot of class and great UI. Let's meet for drinks, dinner, movie? Be prepared to spend time in my pocket. When I ran that personals ad on Craigslist I didn't quite expect the 8520 to answer. This inexpensive phone will cost $48 at Wal-Mart (!!) and about $130 on T-Mobile proper and comes in black and light blue. I'm going to put it through its paces for a few days and report back but from what I can tell they worked pretty darn hard to get this phone under $50. First, they took off the scroll ball and replaced it with a touch sensitive pad - sort of like a track pad - and definitely took some liberties with the backlighting and fit and finish.

7 Reasons Nokia Phones Get No Love in U.S.

Nokia is the worldwide king of cellphones. But don’t tell that to U.S. customers. Nokia’s market share in the United States is on the decline, down to 8 percent last year, from 15 percent two years ago. “Nokia missed a number of handset trends in the last few years — thin phones, clamshells, touchscreen devices, applications,” [...]

Amazing Gallery of Retro, Streamlined Steam-Irons

The internet is supposed to be the place for niches. No matter how odd your interests, you’ll almost always find something pertinent on the web. Paper books, on the other hand, need to aim at the mass audience and are therefore more mainstream, right? Then what the hell is Streamlined Irons? The book details the most [...]
