Dell netbook modded into a rather large handset (video)
Posted on December 31, 2009 | No CommentsEager to get a hold on your very own Dell-branded Android smartphone? This guy here took matters into his own hands with nothing more than his modding skill, his imagination, and a Dell Inspiron Mini. Of course, this thing won't exactly fit in most pockets, but as a curiosity (and a conversation starter) it performs admirably. Have you ever seen a 10.1-inch novelty handset in action? Now's your chance -- peep the video for yourself after the break.Continue reading Dell netbook modded into a rather large handset (video)

Steam to come pre-installed on Alienware PCs
Posted on November 25, 2009 | No Comments
After a clean OS install, Steam is the third thing I load on the PC, after only Chrome and Photoshop. It has became the center of my gaming life and now Dell has worked a dell with the company to have the digital delivery manager pre-installed on all Alienware systems. Just think, Steam is non-spyware or bloatware software pack that will probably be installed on the Alienware rig anyway. Maybe Dell is starting to get it.

Dell Black Friday ad
Posted on November 13, 2009 | No CommentsThe good news is, with this one you don't even need to get dressed. You can probably hit these "door busters" in your pajamas. Dell spent quite a bit of time on their full color ad, it'd be a shame not to look at it.

Dell Z-series Inspirons shed weight, thickness, and voltage
Posted on September 8, 2009 | No Comments
Dell's gone ahead and added a lowercase "Z" to its Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 15 lines. That little Z means a little less weight and a thinner design thanks to ultra low-voltage CPUs from Intel. There's also the 11.6-inch Inspiron 11z CULV model, too, in case you missed it.

Ask Engadget: What’s the best dual-band router?
Posted on May 28, 2009 | No Comments
C'mon, admit it. Seeing Ask Engadget is your favorite thing of the week, as it definitely marks the unofficial start of the weekend. Before you break out the Dos Equis and engage in copious amounts of "chilaxing," why not give this question a serious look (and an even more serious answer)?
"I recently came across the article of "How-to: set up dual-band WiFi." I have been thinking about upgrading my wireless network in order to wirelessly stream video and data from my desktop to my media extenders around the home. What would be a good simultaneous dual-band router? I have Windows Vista on a Dell Inspiron 530 and other laptops running Windows XP, Vista, etc. I also have media extenders like the Linksys DMA 2200 and PS3. If possible, I would like to stay under $150."
We're certain Pradeep's not the only one looking to do the dual-band thing, and we know quite a few of your are already rocking such a setup. If so, what kind of kit are you using to make it all happen? Don't stay quiet, ya heard?Filed under: Networking
