    Sandisk has created a new line of write once, read many SD cards, mainly intended for law enforcement. I suppose you could use one for taking pictures of grandma, but I don't really see the point for personal use. Well, maybe for weddings and graduations and such, but part of the attraction of digital cameras is that you can erase pictures without worrying about it.

In the past weeks the company presented a new 3D touchscreen for mobile devices, then the world's first four-primary 3D display, followed by a 3D e-book reader.     We were very impressed with the NEX3 and NEX5 digital cameras Sony presented yesterday for the first time. And today, the company in Tokyo announced [press release in English] a hardware prototype of a great-looking interchangeable HD camcorder. Technical details are relatively scarce at this point, but Sony says they will be using the same "Exmor" APS HD CMOS sensor the NEX3 and NEX5 will have.

    Kodak Files Lawsuits Against Apple, RIM Over Digital Imaging Technology Patent

    Eastman Kodak Company (in short, Kodak) has filed lawsuits against Apple and Research In Motion, alleging that both have infringed digital imaging technology patented by the company. The complaint, filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission, claims that Apple’s iPhone devices and all RIM’s camera-enabled BlackBerry phones infringe a patent that covers technology related to a method for previewing images. Separately, Kodak filed two suits today against Apple that claim the infringement of patents related to digital cameras and certain computer processes. In a statement, Kodak says it remains open to negotiating an agreement with both Apple and RIM, which it claims to have tried reaching for years.

    Better MultiMediaCards: Toshiba announces world’s first 64GB embedded NAND flash memory module

    Toshiba has announced today the launch of the world's first 64GB NAND chips that are fully compatible with the so-called e-MMC standard (embedded MultiMediaCard) established last year. The new modules were produced by combining 16 32Gbit NAND chips with Toshiba's proprietary 32nm process technology and include a controller.
