I'm sitting here listening to one of my many soccer podcasts World Football Daily, for the curious), browsing YouTube like a complete dweeb. A couple of keystrokes later and I'm watching this video, wherein a fine upstanding gentleman by the nom de plume of Review Tech USA talks about the Retrode, a USB device that automatically turns your old SNES and Sega Genesis cartridges and turns them into emulator-friendly ROMs. Now, I don't know where you come from, but in my neck of the woods, that's a fine piece of kit.

Dolphin, the Wii and GameCube emulator, has its first post-open source release. It’s really good.

Today marks the first official release since that magical day. And let me tell you something: Dolphin works really, really well. Give it a shot when you have a chance.

Posted on November 29, 2009 | No CommentsWe've already seen that the Droid is perfectly capable of implementing multitouch gestures in third-party apps, and the most high-profile (if not the most important, period) implementation of that is in a good web browser where non-stop zooming is a way of life -- especially when browsing sites designed for desktops. Dolphin -- which has been kicking around for a couple months in the Market -- has just added multitouch support on the Droid, which automatically makes it an interesting alternative to Android's mediocre (well, mediocre by WebKit standards, anyhow) built-in fare.
