Android to get a Playstation emulator thanks to ZodTTD
Posted on June 4, 2010 | No Comments
We like ZodTTD. He's a dude who just gets stuff done. Back in the early days of iPhone jailbreaking, he found his niche in building emulators for the platform; within months, he'd ported over pocket friendly versions of the SNES, Genesis, N64, Playstation, while somehow finding time to build things like an iPhone version of the VLC media player.
Now, after much demand by his fans, he's building things for Android. His first project? An as-of-yet unnamed Playstation emulator.

Clearwire to offer WiMax phones from HTC and Samsung this year
Posted on May 6, 2010 | No Comments
Whenever we talk about WiMax phones (like the oh-so-drool-worthy EVO 4G), we're usually talking about Sprint. Well, Sprint's WiMax is powered by a (not so) little company called Clearwire (which, in turn, is 51% owned by Sprint) -- and they want some WiMax phones of their own.
During an earnings call yesterday, the company disclosed that they're planning on launching at least two WiMax handsets this year -- one from Samsung, and one from HTC. One will be powered by Android.. and the other? Its a mystery!

Texas Instruments goes for broke, packs 4 radios into WiLink 7 chip
Posted on February 9, 2010 | No CommentsWhy the hell not, right? In an effort to ensure that your future mobile devices are as small as possible, Texas Instruments has developed a new chip that somehow manages to contain 4 individual radios for WiFi a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and FM receive/transmit. Not only that, it’s (according to the press release, anyway) even [...] -

The answer, it seems, is today.

Xperia X10 to launch in April on Vodafone UK (Update: And others!)
Posted on February 4, 2010 | No CommentsIf you’d captured all the drool we’ve drooled over the X10 since it first got detailed so many months ago, you’d have a pool deep enough to swim in. A very nasty pool that you shouldn’t actually swim in, but a pool nonetheless. Today, UK wireless carrier Vodafone has announced that they’ll soon be carrying the [...] -

Here’s the Olympus SP-800UZ & SP-600UZ megazoom cams
Posted on February 2, 2010 | No CommentsOlympus isn’t new a new player in the megazoom game. The camera company’s megazoom line is older than some Jonas Brothers’ fans. And it shows. The new kits are officially drool worthy. The just-annouced SP-800UZ rocks a mega 30x optical zoom paired with dual image stabilization. A 14 MP sensor rests behind that monster and can also capture 720p [...] -

Posted on January 28, 2010 | No CommentsEveryone loves the feeling of a brand new BlackBerry trackball; you slide your finger across it, and it rolls in place like a hamster in a ball on top of a sea of butter. A few weeks later — primarily on the older devices — it starts to get a bit chunky; within months, it [...]
