iPhone 4 vs. the smartphone elite: EVO 4G, N8, Pre Plus, and HD2
Posted on June 7, 2010 | No CommentsWe know how the iPhone 4 sizes up against the aging 3GS -- but how does it fare against its fiercest competitors from all the major platforms? We wish we had some production Windows Phone 7 kit to check out here, but in the meantime, take a look at the results against the gruesome foursome of the EVO 4G, N8, Pre Plus, and HD2. You might be surprised by some of the results -- and sorry, RIM, you don't get to play until you bring some fresh, media-heavy hardware to the table. Nothing personal!Continue reading iPhone 4 vs. the smartphone elite: EVO 4G, N8, Pre Plus, and HD2

Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition revs up Android 2.1
Posted on June 1, 2010 | No CommentsSure, the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition features the the same underclocked 768MHz Snapdragon and Android 2.1 as the original Liquid E that launched in February, but, well, this one comes with a flashy Ferrari F1 Red paint job and matching Elite Bluetooth earpiece. Can't say no to that, can you? You know the rest of the drill: 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen, five megapixel camera with autofocus, geotagging, and adjustable ISO, included 8GB microSD card, and the Acer Sync app that syncs changes across your phone and PC. No word on price or availability, but it certainly looked pretty on the Computex show floor -- we'll let you know if we find out more.

Via to flood the US market with five sub-$150 Android tablets by year’s end
Posted on May 25, 2010 | No Comments
2010 was called the year of the tablet and Via might make that come true. The chip maker plans on releasing five tablets by the end of the year. The kicker is that these five models will cost between $100 and $150 -- or so says a Bloomberg report. These tablets are said to run Android and will be available in the states in the second half of the 2010.
Via's upcoming tablets are of course in response to the iPad and is a classic CE move. Instead of producing a quality product, a company, in this case Via, is outing a whole range of low-cost (and likely cheap) alternatives.

Bungie: The Halo 2 big E3 reveal back in 2003 was ’smoke and mirrors’
Posted on April 12, 2010 | No CommentsWell now this is mildly embarrassing. Six years ago, Bungieshowed off, and I guess I use that term loosely now, Halo 2 for the very first time. Let's see... 2003, that would make me 17. Trivia! Anyhow, what Bungie showed was a complete hunk of nonsense. This is where you act surprised.

GameStop selling 250GB Xbox 360 drive
Posted on March 2, 2010 | No Comments
Well lookie at that, GameStop is selling a 250GB Xbox 360 drive separately from a console. Microsoft has said in the past that they don't plan on selling the larger drives without a bundle, so I doubt these are a new or official product, but rather GameStop coming up with something on their own.

Halo 3: ODST is coming out on September 22, 2009 but you may wanna wait for the bundle pack if you're in need of a new system. Hey, UK, get ready for an Xbox 360 price increase
Posted on August 17, 2009 | No CommentsMicrosoft will raise the price of the Xbox 360 in the UK in order to “counteract the poor pound-to-Euro currency exchange rate.” UK gamers will have to pay £159.99 ($260) for the Arcade model, up from £129.99 ($211).

You’ve been adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing all day long. The sweat gathers in the arm pit region of your short-sleeve button-down work shirt. Your pocket protector feels like it weighs a thousand pounds. Only 15 minutes to go and you can hop in your Subaru, drive home, and take a nice, long shower. If only there was a shower curtain to reflect your status as one of the world’s most elite mathletes.
Kids! NERF 2: "N-Strike" Elite is coming out on the Wii this fall. You'll get the above-pictured SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blaster. That little flip-up "red reveal lens" shows in-game secret messages and enemy weak spots right there on the screen. Your mom and dad won't be able to see any of that stuff, but you will!
