Video: LG Panther WinPho 7 phone starts up for all to see

Would ya looky here! Looks like someone over at Innovative Singapore has posted a video that shows what it would be like to turn on a WinPho 7 phone for the very first time. The device shown in the video (and right here) is the LG Panther, which has been making its way around the webs for a little while now. It seems that LG will ditch the "Panther" monicker for a much more memorable "GW910", which is an issue I'll be taking up with their marketers directly.

This is just a quick one, but I wanted to show you guys n gals the pretty transitions that are being worked into WinPho 7. Although we've already had a quick peek at the interface, Mobility Digest have chopped out the boring bits from a recent (45 minute) video of a Channel 9 presentation, to present the juicy, 2-minute, emulator-driven, let's-get-a-quick-taste-of-WinPho-7-apps video, shown after the fold.

A WebOS port of the popular GB/CGA emulator is pretty rocking’, even though it only runs at 90% speed on a good day. The hackers who figured all this out will get it back up to speed shortly but don’t expect to download this at the Apps Market or whatever Palm is calling it. This [...]

The iPad may not have a camera, but it sure thinks it does

Surprised that the iPad doesn't have a camera? Yeah, so are we - and if these screenshots of the just-released iPad emulator are any indication, so is someone on Apple's software development team. Tucked away within the iPad's contacts application is an "Add Photo" button, purposed with.. well, adding photos. Everyone likes having photos assigned to their contacts, and there's more than enough space on this thing to sync photos of all your friends - so nothing too strange there. What is odd, however, is the prompt that pops up:

N900 turned into PS3 controller courtesy of BlueMaemo emulator

Should you be the sort of person who doesn't mind fiddling around with alpha level software, you'll definitely want to know about the BlueMaemo Bluetooth emulator. Available via the Extras-Devel repository on your N900, this app allows the device to mimic other Bluetooth gadgets, such as keyboards, mice, and yes indeedy, gaming controllers. Its developer Valério Domingos humbly points out that the purpose of connecting up to a PS3 is purely for menu navigation and easier text input, though we've no doubt a few hardcore Nokia loyalists will try using this in an action game to prove the N900's superiority. You may follow Valério and his ongoing refinement of the app in the Maemo.org link below, or you can jump past the break to see the full controller layout and an instructional video on how to hook things up -- it's in Italian, but you should be able to grasp what's going on senza problemi.

    [Thanks, shellshock]

So there's actually two things to tell you about here; for one thing, you can play Tekken 3 on your HTC HD2 phone. That's cool and all, but the big story is the emulator used to play it. The emulator, named FPSECE, not only supports the Playstation 1, but the touchscreen as well.
