Adobe decries Apple’s ‘walled garden,’ yet pledges ‘best tools’ for HTML5
Posted on May 5, 2010 | No CommentsAdobe CTO Kevin Lynch says Flash works just fine on the Apple iPhone, thank you very much -- and he thinks that's exactly why Apple keeps on denying it access. Speaking at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, he explained his belief that by eliminating Flash, Cupertino is forcing developers to build apps natively for iPhone OS rather than one of Adobe's cross-platform solutions, and thus creating a "walled garden" of applications that users must flock to an iDevice to be able to use. Lynch compared Apple's control over development formats to 19th century railroad lines that competed for customers by using differently sized rails, and pledged that Adobe would not be part of such a competition. "It's not HTML vs. Flash -- they've been co-existing for over a decade," he said, adding, "We're going to try and make the best tools in the world for HTML5." So, what do you think about that, Steve?Adobe decries Apple's 'walled garden,' yet pledges 'best tools' for HTML5 originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 05 May 2010 19:27:00 EST. Flash seen running on a Google Tablet prototype
Posted on May 5, 2010 | No CommentsA sharp eyed blogger at the Web 2.0 Expo in SF spotted something rather interesting today at the Adobe booth. Apparently, there is a Google Tablet out there somewhere, and it’s running Android (duh). Not only that, but it seems that Flash runs pretty much seamlessly on prototype. Here we go again. Max the blogger knew [...] -

LG Lotus Elite’s appearance on a billboard suggests it’s probably real
Posted on January 4, 2010 | No CommentsIn case there was any sliver of doubt that the so-called LX610 Lotus Elite from LG was a real device ready to fill the original Lotus' unusually wide shoes on Sprint, feast your eyes on this: a giant billboard covering the side of a Las Vegas hotel pimping the Chocolate Touch, the eXpo, and -- yes, that's right -- the Lotus Elite. To be fair, there's no name mentioned here, but we've got a feeling it's right considering the rest of the intel has ended up panning out. Stay tuned.

Logic Wireless 150LGW projector phone reminds us of that Bolt we once saw
Posted on December 28, 2009 | No CommentsRemember the Bolt from CES 2009? Man, that was ages ago. If you'll recall, projector phones were actually all the rage for around 4.67 minutes at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, and ever since we've been dealt months of nothing alongside one lone ranger of something in the LG eXpo. Evidently Logic Wireless is hoping that we'll forget all about the Bolt that never shipped and instead focus on the next best thing: the 150LGW. Available for order now at Skymall (of all places), the projector phone looks significantly slimmer and more stylish than the company's first crack, and aside from the inbuilt PJ, there's also twin SIM card slots, dual cameras, an Office file viewer, quad-band GSM radio, Bluetooth and Symbian running the show. We aren't too sure we'd be willing to shell out $499 without any proof that this thing is worth its salt, but you can bet we'll be on the hunt for it once CES 2010 opens up next week.Logic Wireless 150LGW projector phone reminds us of that Bolt we once saw originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 28 Dec 2009 10:26:00 EST. LG eXpo unboxing and impressions
Posted on December 20, 2009 | 1 CommentWe're not sure we'd be able to find a piece of hardware that made us adore Windows Mobile 6.5 the same way we adore puppies or a hot cup of cocoa, but that doesn't mean that the usual suspects -- HTC, Samsung, LG, and the like -- aren't producing some magnificent hardware on which to run it. Today we've had a chance to give LG's new eXpo for AT&T a quick once-over, and on paper, this is a hell of a handset: 5 megapixel autofocus cam, a fingerprint sensor that doubles as a d-pad, Snapdragon power, a WVGA display, full QWERTY, and most notably, support for an optional microprojector add-on. Sadly, a ship date hasn't yet been assigned to the PJ, but does the basic package hold its own against the similarly-spec'd Tilt2? Let's check it out.

LG eXpo hits the shelves 10 days late, projector attachment still M.I.A
Posted on December 17, 2009 | No CommentsI’m not sure if there were anybody was waiting in lines outside of AT&T stores when the LG eXpo launched last week – but if they were, they left sorely disappointed. Without much notice or acknowledgement, the eXpo’s December 7th launch date came and went. Just shy of two weeks later, the eXpo is now available [...] -
Projector-packin’ LG Expo gets delayed

If you were gettin' all antsy in the pantsies about yesterday's launch of the LG Expo and it's detachable projector accessory, you might be a bit bewildered right now. A full day later, AT&T's still showing no sign of the handset.
