Sonos announces iPad app
Posted on June 22, 2010 | No Comments
I've always had a soft spot in my necrotic heart for Sonos. In the face if iPods, Zunes, mobile phones, and everything else, they've kept pumping out great, compact products for folks with big houses. They've never pretended to be too high-class for the rest of us yet you basically use their products to create soundscapes, just like Disney World, Vegas, and the haunted house I made in my basement as a kid.
Sonos just announced their iPad app - probably available in August - that allows you to control your Sonos system on the iPad's bright screen. The app allows you to browse your iTunes and Sonos collection, pick radio streams, and even set different rooms with different playlists. When I tested the Sonos kit I used to like to make my bathroom, for instance, the Drum'n'Bass room to ease evacuation.
Video after the jump.

Authentic Moleskine Notebook for the Kindle, it’s so edgy
Posted on June 16, 2010 | No Comments
The sense of style for a Mission District hipster can often times be too edgy for the “culturally sheltered mainstream consumer”. As a hipster you will undoubtedly rock a Moleskine notebook in the city, because let’s face it, you’ve got something intelligent to write. Let us take that one step further, and throw a Kindle inside the cover. Can you feel that edginess? It’s an analog-digital hybrid – man that’s so edgy.

Motorola Droid 2 gets some proper spy shots (and spy video!)
Posted on June 10, 2010 | No Comments
Take that keyboard-only shot of the Droid 2 we saw last week, and the blurry face shot we saw yesterday. Put'em together. What do you get? Proper, mostly blur-free spyshots of the next Droid, keyboard and all.

AT&T apologizes to the guy they threatened to C&D for e-mailing their CEO
Posted on June 3, 2010 | No Comments
If you spend any more than a few minutes a day on the Internet, you've probably already heard the story of Giorgio G.: Upset with AT&T about his iPhone eligibility dates, he e-mails the company's CEO. A few days later, he e-mails again for a different (albeit related) matter. Within a few days, AT&T responds... with a threat to send him a formal cease & desist letter unless he stops e-mailing the CEO.
'Twas the voicemail heard around the blogosphere. Within a few hours, just about every gadget-oriented blog and news network had mentioned it, none of them too happy. Undoubtedly looking to save a bit of face in the situation, AT&T has publicly apologized to Giorgio.

Aspiral Clock makes telling time a ball
Posted on March 15, 2010 | No Comments
Most concept clocks are high on art, and low on functionality. That's not the case with the Aspiral Clock, designed by Will Aspinall and Neil Lambath. Instead of using the standard hands, this clock uses a small ball to tell the time.

Roger Ebert talks to his wife with his own voice using CereProc
Posted on March 2, 2010 | No Comments
When I saw Roger Ebert's face for the first time in that Esquire article I was so, so sad. He and Gene Siskel were a great force in movie-making (and reviewing) and their opinions mattered so much to me as a youngster and a young man. I loved watching them and loved their show. I remember they'd always have something great to say about all of the movies I loved as a kid.

Megan Fox introduces Motorola DEVOUR and looks face-slappingly good
Posted on February 7, 2010 | No Comments
For me, the best part of the Super Bowl is the commercials. And after you see this one, you may have to agree. Just note that you'll have to play the video several times over before you realize there's a phone there - the Motorola DEVOUR with MOTOBLUR, to be exact. So, what happens when Megan Fox uses her DEVOUR to send out a hot, wet image via a social network?

Samsung shows off E61, the ebook reader with a bad keyboard
Posted on February 4, 2010 | No Comments
When is a qwerty keyboard a bad idea? When it's on the Samsung E61 e-book reader. The problem with this thing isn't just the ugly keyboard, or the fact that it's obviously "inspired" by the Kindle, it's that the Samsung E6 looks promising.

I present to you a Panerai Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Ceramica Lo Scientziato Watch
Posted on January 27, 2010 | No CommentsAriel “Sass-master 2000″ Adams has some great shots of the new Panerai monster. This watch, just for reference, costs more than ten of my cars. The watch is made of black ceramic and it uses Panerai’s tourbillon calibre behind a skeletonized face. You’ll notice a second’s hand, an AM/PM indicator, and a GMT hand front [...] -

The Ariel Atom, a $40K face melter
Posted on January 2, 2010 | No CommentsThis thing is only 20,000 GBP or about $40K. It uses a Honda Civic R-Type engine with a supercharger. It clearly will kill you sooner than later, although because it’s a car you’re not dealing with the possibility of sliding under a truck. Amazing stuff. Here’s the product page. If you get one, do tell us [...] -

You can run, but you can't hide (in cyberspace). In one of the strangest stories of 2009, it's been reported that Blizzard worked with law enforcement to help catch a drug dealer.
