First trailer for Resident Evil 4: Afterlife is here

We've given you the first plot details and pictures on Friday, but now the first trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife (aka Resident Evil 4) is online. It's pretty cool (well, it shows more of the same), mentioning the movie was filmed with the "James Cameron / Vincent Pace Fusion Camera System", the "World's Most Advanced 3D Technology".

Looks like the CrunchPad will make an appearance on Monday in San Francisco

So is the CrunchPad still alive? More importantly, will it still come out? Don't ask me; I'm just as in-the-dark about the CrunchPad as the average man on the street, but the public relations agency behind Fusion Garage (the company TechCrunch teamed with to make the device) has said that the device will make an appearance before reporters in San Francisco on Monday.

Keepin’ it real fake, part CCXL: HTC Hero gets iPhone flair

It's just like the old riddle: what looks like a Hero, thinks it's an iPhone, and does double-duty as an old-school FM handheld? Why, it's the TVG3 -- and when combined with some prototypical shanzhai flair, its (con)fusion of attributes from all over the cellphone space make this one a stunning exemplar of KIRFness. Behold! 3.2-inch touchscreen, G-sensor (aka gyroscope), dual sims, Bluetooth, WiFi, built-in TV tuner, HTC looks and an almost-iPhone UI: not bad for $130, eh? In case you won't be in Shenzhen any time soon, you can get a closer look after the break.

So you're sitting around looking at faucets like my buddy Sam was. And you happen upon a cool-looking faucet from Delta. It looks really pretty. Huh. But it's $434.38. Why? You read on. Suddenly you see something magical: "Start and stop the flow of water with just a tap anywhere on the spout or handle." Let me re-paste that: "Start and stop the flow of water with just a tap anywhere on the spout or handle."

CrunchPad prototype coming this month, be available ASAP

Big Mike has been pretty quiet about the CrunchPad since it was first leaked the other month and for good reason. We’ve heard from reliable sources that Apple is still on track with an oversized iPod Touch in the coming months. We more or less know everything there is to know about the CrunchPad, but a few more specs have popped up thanks to the NYT and SF Biz Times. The CP, made by Fusion Garage, is 16mm thick with a 12-inch screen encased in aluminum.

Toshiba to finally release netbook in the US

toshiba NB205While Toshiba's had netbooks out in Japan for a while (and Europe, recently) the company's been a wallflower here in the US, patiently watching as netbooks have evolved over the past year or so and taking notes in a leather-bound pad marked "Netbooks: Pros and Cons" that it carries around in its back pocket. Sure, it looks dumb when Toshiba takes out the pad in a restaurant to write down a new witty quote it's never heard before, but it's also helped in readying a US version of the NB200-series netbook.
