Where were you when the Xbox 360 version of BioShock 2 leaked? (Because it just did, you see.)
Posted on February 4, 2010 | No CommentsFive days. We’re a whopping five days away from the game’s official release date, but BioShock 2, the second truly big game of the year (the other being Mass Effect 2) has now leaked. Well, the Xbox 360 version, that is. It’s found where these type of things can be found, and I only mention [...] -
BioWare tries to balance the BioWare way with the attraction of new fans with Mass Effect 2
Posted on January 12, 2010 | No CommentsLadies and gentlemen, I have a conundrum. As many of you know, Mass Effect 2 comes out on January 26. It's the first big game of the year. There's only one problem: I'm having a heck of a hard time getting excited about it. What's wrong with me, because clearly something is?

What’s the bigger seller: New Super Mario Bros. Wii or Modern Warfare 2?
Posted on November 11, 2009 | No CommentsSo by now you probably already have Modern Warfare 2, have beaten the single-player mode (cheap shot!), and have been killed within three seconds of re-spawning in multi-player mode more times than you'd care to admit. Great, good for you. Something that has been taken for granted, though, is that the game will be one of the best-selling games of the year, if not the best-selling. Hold your horses, partner, because an Electronic Entertainment Design and Research analyst has said that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will well outsell Modern Warfare 2 when it's all said and done.

Even more Modern Warfare 2 reviews have surfaced: It’s good
Posted on November 10, 2009 | No CommentsYou know what day it is! Herein lies my usual review round-up (see yesterday's preview), starring Modern Warfare 2. Right now I'll highlight the good in the game, and later today I'll highlight the bad. Very exciting, yes.

First reviews of Modern Warfare 2 published: Two perfect scores
Posted on November 9, 2009 | No CommentsSo to recap: nobody has been given permission to sell Modern Warfare 2 early. It's a crazy Internet rumor that has no basis in reality. But it's happening like whoa. What is based in reality is that the first reviews of the game have started appearing online, and they're all from UK newspapers. A strange place to see the first reviews of what's probably going to end up being the biggest game of the year (with all due respect to Assassin's Creed II).

Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360 leaked all over the Internet (a full week before its official release)
Posted on November 3, 2009 | No CommentsAs I cleverly remarked in the official CrunchGear chat room, that a video game leaks a few days before its release is par for the course. When the biggest video game of the year leaks a full week before its release date, it's worth noting. So that's what I'm doing right now: Activision's Modern Warfare 2 has leaked. It's available where you usually find such things.

Outrage? Modern Warfare 2 leaked footage shows terrorist attack at airport (and you can hurt the civilians)
Posted on October 29, 2009 | No CommentsLook at the AP, trying to stir up controversy where none exists. I'm sure by now you've seen the leaked Modern Warfare 2 footage (the video is down right now) that shows a terrorist situation inside an airport. The AP (and HuffPo) is making a big deal out of the fact that you can shoot civilians inside the airport. And? Are they trying to go with that weak argument, “Oh, violent video games make people violent”? How can people still believe that?

In case you missed it, DJ Hero is available today
Posted on October 27, 2009 | No Comments
Yes, you can leave work early today. No need to ask your boss, he/she is okay with it.
If you haven’t had your fill of music rhythm games by now or you watched with a furrowed brow as guitar-based game after guitar-based game flooded the market, your giant headphones covering only one of your ears and held in place by your own shoulder just like your favorite DJs, then you’ll want to scrounge up between $100 and $200 for Activision’s DJ Hero, depending on your console and whether or not you want the special “Renegade Edition.”

Well, that's the European date, but I can't see the North American date being too different.

Bethesda delays Fallout 3 PS3 DLC till September
Posted on July 13, 2009 | No Comments
Ouch. Bethesda just said, on the official PlayStation blog, that it's going to delay the release of all that Fallout 3 DLC for the PS3. Yup, PS3 gamers won't be able to play the DLC until the end of September. Silver lining: Broken Steel will be the first one released, immediately raising the level cap and letting gamers play the game post-final mission.

Posted on June 18, 2009 | No Comments
The headline might be misleading or confusing, but the BioShock and Elder Scrolls bundle does not include a console. It’s just a games bundle that includes the 2006 and 2007 Game of the Year Winners. Starting on July 7, you can get BioShock and Elder Scrolls IV for $40. The Windows PC bundle will be $30.
