EA Sports sez Spain will win the World Cup, USA crashes out in second round

Another day, another EA Sports prediction, World Cup edition. According to the latest game, EA Sports FIFA World Cup 2010, MIGHTY SPAIN will win the tournament. That's funny, because as I write this Spain can't even score a goal against South Korea...

World of Warcraft hackers embrace man-in-the-middle attacks

Here's some troubling news for my fellow World of Warcraftplayers. It seems that hackers, account thieves, and other miscreants have now embraced man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks to further their evil ways. Blizzard says it's not a widespread issue, and it's rather difficult to pull off, but it's something y'all should be aware of.

    There’s a Wii game that’s just walking

Konami, you magnificent bastards. I’ve seen Wii fitness games before but this brings the idea to a whole new level. Walk It Out! is a game where the goal is to… wait for it… walk around.

Assassin’s Creed II DLC priced and dated: Now you can finish the game

Like with every game not called World of Warcraft, I played Assassin's Creed II for a solid two or three hours, and it's been collecting dust ever since then. This is relevant because, what, Ubisoft sold me (and all of you!) an incomplete game? Apparently! The game's upcoming DLC, Sequence 12: Battle of Forli and Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities, which go on sale in January and February, “complete” the game. At least they're cheap: $3.99 and $4.99.

Yet another game, CrimeCraft, refused classification in Australia

There's almost a comedy about this next story: Australia has banned another video game because it's too violent. (What is it with Australia and banning violent video games?) The game is CrimeCraft, and it has been refused classification by the ratings board down there.

Blizzard starts selling in-game pets for real world money

Really big World of Warcraft news today, friends. (Why do I write so much about WoW? Oh, you know, it's just the biggest, most successful MMO in history. Not writing about it would be like covering tech with mentioning Microsoft or Apple.) Blizzard is now selling in-game pets that you can buy with real money, $10. We're talking cash money. Dollar dollar bill, y'all.

Yes, Ron from Ron and Fez is in Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony

That's right, I'm going to be that guy since CrunchGear is maybe one notch above a random message board. As I suspected, Ron from <Ron and Fez, is in Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony. (Apparently East Side Dave is in another upcoming Rockstar game. Let's speculate which one!) His voice is in the game (continuing the trend of XM 202 guys being in the GTA games), and I'm going to spend my evening tonight trying to find it. The sad part is that I'm not even lying. I literally have nothing better to do with my time

  • Button: An iPhone Game That Just May Make You Better At Your Job

Button: An iPhone Game That Just May Make You Better At Your Job

lost_2030_2Fans of the television show Lost will remember that a big part of season 2 revolved around the pushing of a button. Every 108 minutes you had to enter numbers and push the button or the world might end, was the line of thought. Of course, as time went on, people started to wonder if it wasn't just some psychological experiment. A new iPhone game that involves pushing a button, is a psychological exercise, of sorts. Called Button, the game is about as simple as they come. There is a big button on the screen, and when it lights up, you push it. So why would anyone want to play that game? No, the world isn't going to end if you don't, but you will potentially miss out on some free prizes. And pushing the button may just help you get through some mundane tasks throughout your day as well. Button was created by Blank Software, which is a side project of MobileCrunch editor Greg Kumparak.

Let’s remember Azeroth as she once was: Proud, full of confidence

It's sort of a shame that the Azeroth we all know and love will be going away with World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the game's next expansion. To that end, one brave soul has taken it upon herself to collect desktop wallpaper-sized images of the old game world.
