Shock study: Adult Web sites are filled with malware
Posted on June 11, 2010 | No CommentsWow, who would have guessed that visiting adult Web sites would be dangerous to the health of your computer? I mean, of all of the genres of sites out there—sports, tech, politics, books, etc.—the last I would have predicted to be dangerous was adult ones. Thanks, International Secure System Lab

Posted on May 28, 2010 | No Comments
Via's cheap Android tablets have been supposedly been found. Via Gallery has a 16-pic spread showing different angles for each. Call us underwhelmed. Also, call us right for predicting this garbage. Anyway, click through for a shot of each product.

The Inkia inPad 701 and inPad 702 breaks onto the scene
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No Comments>
Inkia isn't a new player in the tablet game and so the inPad 701 and inPad 702 might be solid contenders. Details are a bit light but we know that both run Android on a 7-inch screen with the 702 model getting a 3G module. It's probably safe to assume that the target market is Asia but retails such as Dynamism has a long history of bringing similar products to the states. That is of course if they are worth our time and not garbage.

The best Lost rant on the Internet
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No Comments
I already made my feelings known about last night's Lost. It was pure garbage and didn't answer a damn thing besides the fact that the writers are clearly taking the easy way out. I read a bunch of rants online today expressing the same feeling but this one by Jacob Hall on SciFi Squad is the best. Seriously. He nails it.

Super fake HTC Hero runs Android
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No CommentsWhen you get a Shanzhai phone you usually have to put up with a garbage OS. However, this fake HTC Hero is actually running Android and you get a 3.2-inch touchscreen and you get a 400MHz processor and a fake Sense UI, all for about $150. What will those mountain bandits think of next? via ClonedInChina -
Huzzah! The iPhone 4G gets a Chinese clone [update: now with video!]
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsHow many Shanzai does it take to clone the new iPhone? Apparently one and he doesn’t need very long to do it, either. Hot on the heels of the iPhone leak Chinese cloners are already producing iPhone-alikes that look just like the iPhone HD/4G/XXX/]I[. Shenzhai makers in Shenzhen that have the most acute business sense took [...] -
Surprise: Iron Man 2 nowhere near as good as the first one
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No CommentsThat's funny. When I last wrote about Iron Man 2, I had guessed that Scarlett Johansson would be the only reason to see the movie, and it looks like I was right! The first review of the movie has been published, and it includes this: "Meanwhile, [Johansson] struts through the film in various stages of dress and undress, which might be the best thing about Iron Man 2 for its younger male fans." Other than that? The movie is hot garbage. Go figure.

The netbook, she is dying
Posted on April 27, 2010 | No CommentsDear people who yelled at me when I said netbooks were garbage: I was right. IDC is reporting that sales of netbooks running the Atom platform are flat. Why? Well, first off people have a little cash so they want to buy something nice for themselves instead of a $350 junkbook. Competition from Netbooks that use [...] -
Microsoft in hot water over China factory conditions
Posted on April 14, 2010 | No CommentsYet another scandal coming out of China relating to its factories. Last time it was Apple that got in trouble, now it's Microsoft. An undercover investigation, carried out by the National Labor Committee over a period of three years, discovered that several factories there, including ones used by Microsoft to produce things like webcams and mice, were treating their workers like garbage. “We are like prisoners. It seems like we live only to work. We do not work to live. We do not live a life, only work.”

Dear Square Enix: Just remake Final Fantasy VII already
Posted on March 19, 2010 | No CommentsI'll just point you in the direction of this weird rant... thing about Final Fantasy. It sorta explains the differences between Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy XIII. Something about honor and inns and whatnot. Yeah. More importantly, let's discuss the possibility of Square Enix remaking Final Fantasy VII, because that hasn't been done before on the Internet.

Throw away those Baby Einstein DVDs
Posted on March 2, 2010 | No Comments
Bam. If you've ever had to sit through a modern educational kids movie, you've realized they're garbage. Junk like Diego and Baby Einstein are useless educationally and, in comparison to Looney Tunes and the like, absolute pablum. Now parents won't feel guilty because little Mason and Kirsten aren't learning how to say "monito" through video watching. It is written that 12- to 24-month olds get no language-learning benefits from garbage educational videos.

Netgear & Ericsson team up, concoct MBRN3300 3G router
Posted on February 9, 2010 | No CommentsHere's an interesting fact, if you really stretch the definition of the word "interesting." Team CrunchGear often used the Novatel MiFi during CES to bring you all that great content. The concept is simple: it takes a 3G signal and then outputs that signal via Wi-Fi. You then connect to the Wi-Fi network. Instant broadband, cell signal depending, for everyone. The same concept applies to the MBRN3300, a router that's the product of a Netgear-Ericsson partnership.

The first sample videos from the Sony Ericsson Vivaz are out and kind of incredible
Posted on February 3, 2010 | No Comments
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz (previously known as "Kurara") still doesn't have an official release date, but it looks like someone in Sony Ericsson's camp has been playing with one lately. The company just released a pair of sample videos, marking the first time anyone outside of SE has seen footage shot on this handset. Now, given that one of the flagship features of this handset is its 720p video recording mode, we didn't exactly expect the camera quality to be garbage - but hot damn are these videos impressive.
