Time to make your “Move” and pre-order Sony’s latest gadget

Good news Sony fans, turns out that it's time to start warming up that credit card and ordering your PS3 Move controller. It's starting to show up as being available for pre-order (along with a few other tasty bits). Remember it'll be officially available in the US on September 19th, but you might want to pre-order since Sony kind of has a habit of running out of product when they first come out.

New Bus For Ye Olde London Borrows From The Fifth Element

The Mayor of London, yes, they have a mayor, revealed the long-awaited new London bus today. For those of you unaware that the Old London Bus needed updating, I can assure you it did. And the long bendy ones favoured by other countries just would not do for Ye Olde London - aside from their habit of killing cyclists on tight corners and bursting into flames. The old Routemaster bus is an icon on London, but the iconic 1954 design needed a revamp. It needed that crucial Fifth Element look cities really ought to be buying into in 2010.

The Search for Meaning (at SXSWi 2010)

While standing in line for an hour to get my badge and materials at this year's SXSW Interactive Conference, I had time to ponder my first trip to Austin for the event. Initially, my plans for attending centered around hunting down and harassing SEO spammers but a little extra time to reflect reminded me of the insensitivity and meaninglessness of such actions. Besides, that time could be much better spent hunting down beer and merch. All kidding aside, Friday got off to a slow start, panel-wise, but that seemed to suit the nice, laid back nature of this town. At least the AT&T network seemed stable. We’ll see how that goes in the following days. If you have something specific to bitch CrunchGear at SXSW, twoot me at getdonovan.

Dear Hollywood: You don’t have to worry about people pirating 3D movies (for now at least)

There's a story going around that 3D movies are harder to pirate. Really, then what's this: Coraline.3D.1080p.BluRay.x264-REFiNED? Are people incapable of buying a pair 3D glasses from Target or wherever it is people buy these things?

Shock study: Wii Fit alone won’t get you into shape (nor is it supposed to, by the way)

Shocking study coming out of the University of Minnesota that says Wii Fit won't get you into shape, despite what you may think. Well, to be specific, the study says the game won't produce “significant changes in daily physical activity, muscular fitness, flexibility, balance or body composition.”

Leaked: HTC’s handset releases for the first half of 2010

If HTC's trying to keep their device releases top-secret, they're not doin' a very good job. While individual leaks seem to be rare, they seem to be making a habit out of bundling up all their upcoming releases into one big presentation, which in turn leaks all over the internet. It happened right at the beginning of 2009 and, sure enough, it looks like the first half of 2010 has already been locked down and leaked out.

Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360 leaked all over the Internet (a full week before its official release)

As I cleverly remarked in the official CrunchGear chat room, that a video game leaks a few days before its release is par for the course. When the biggest video game of the year leaks a full week before its release date, it's worth noting. So that's what I'm doing right now: Activision's Modern Warfare 2 has leaked. It's available where you usually find such things.

More Vibram Five Fingers information than you particularly require

We at CrunchGear are rarely at the forefront of fashion. However, once I reviewed the Vibram Five Fingers I knew I was onto something. Thankfully, there are other people out there who don't think my love for foot gloves is not strange or weird. In fact, people wear these crazy shoes everywhere they go! Take a look at BirthdayShoes.com. Editor Justin Owings gets testimonials from all over the world including folks who have run marathons in these things and other folks who stand around in India wearing them. Heck, even Sergey Brin is down. Video after the jump.

JVC drops the ball, releases a $200 BD Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player

Last year I made a habit of calling out manufacturers that released Blu-ray players that didn't have the latest Profile 2.0 spec. That was last year. But for some odd reason, JVC has introduced a brand new Blu-ray player that confirms to the old Profile 1.1 spec and therefore doesn't have an Ethernet port or can playback any of the BD-Live features. Oh and this player has an MSRP of $200.

    The Future: 3.3mm-thick Samsung TV

If you think about it, you'll probably only need to hang your flat panel TV on the wall once. Maybe twice. Maybe three times if you really move around a lot, like in the middle of the night when you hear a knock on your door and thank god you slept in your clothes because there's only enough time to put on a pair of Velcro shoes and grab your 40-inch TV.

Three cool iPhone apps that are perfect for mobile news consumption

My name is Robin Wauters, and I'm a news junkie. Being obsessed with consuming as much news - mostly technology related, of course - as humanly possible in the all too short span of any given day comes with the territory of working for TechCrunch, but I've always been a fan of obtaining as much information as fast as I could. You could say my ever-growing habit of trying to consume as much news in my waking hours as I can is more of a natural cause for my employment in the fast-paced tech blogging scene than it is a result. It also means I feel very disconnected when I'm not near a computer or mobile phone I can use to tap the Internet for the never-ending stream of news that gets pumped onto the wires.

Motorola Sholes makes underwhelming FCC appearance

Well, it unfortunately doesn't include any elaborate test setups or a thorough dissection of the device, but it looks like the Motorola Sholes (a.k.a. Droid) has indeed finally made at showing at the FCC, although it's unfortunately (for some of us, anyway) the non-CDMA, European version of the phone. Interestingly, it appears that this may have been a small slip-up on Motorola's part, as all references to the phone other than the one above seem to have been omitted from the documents. Then again, the Sholes seems to be making a habit of showing up plenty of places Motorola may not want it to.
