Halo: Reach multi-player beta is really quite fun
Posted on May 3, 2010 | No CommentsI spent a few hours last night playing the Halo: Reach multi-player beta. (Microsoft sent out a few early invites to writing-guys like me, but the beta opens to Halo: ODST owners today.) It's been a while since I've played a Halo game for any real amount of time. I dabbled with Halo 3's multi-player for a little while there, but that was two years ago. First impression of the Reach beta: absence makes the heart grow fonder. CrunchGear: your home for old man idioms.

Set your clocks, Halo: Reach Beta intro to be shown at 11:00am PDT
Posted on April 29, 2010 | No Comments
In a rather strange move for a video game, Bungie will be showing off the Halo: Reach Beta today via Halo 3: ODST's main menu. This video will star Beta's actress, comedienne, and weapons expert, Aisha Tyler. Chances are the video will find its way onto YouTube by the end of the day just in case you don't have ODST. The Halo: Reach Beta Guide is also now up for your perusal. The May 3rd beta launch is getting closer and closer. Oh man. It's next week.

XScorch 360 controller brings a mouse to the Xbox
Posted on March 22, 2010 | No Comments
Like many FPS gamers of a certain age, I started with the WASD keyboard/mouse control system. As such, I have issues with using a controller to play games on a console, and really wish that someone would come out with a keyboard and mouse control system. There's been a few that come close, and the Scorch 360 looks like another also-ran.

Video: Peter Ha vs an 11-year old professional gamer
Posted on January 23, 2010 | No CommentsWatch and laugh as Peter Ha and Lev Grossman are pwnd by a 11-year old in Halo 3 and Madden. Tools. Just more proof that Peter Ha probably shouldn’t be writing about video games for a living. I’m kidding, Peter. Much love. -

Everything you need to know about Halo: Reach
Posted on January 12, 2010 | No CommentsBungie has done a great job of making fans salivate over Halo: Reach by keeping most the aspects of the game under wraps. Thus far, all the info we have been able to discern has come from the trailers which Bungie released--until now. Yesterday, leaked pictures (shown below) of an upcoming Game Informer magazine hit the web, and the information is quite revealing. It looks like the team at Bungie is going all out on this title. The magazine deals mostly with the campaign--profiling new weapons, characters, and vehicles, but tidbits regarding the multiplayer experience were included as well. All the info we have gathered is after the jump.

Bookies think Modern Warfare 2 will be the best seller this year
Posted on October 9, 2009 | No CommentsAnyone who has any doubts over what will be the best-selling video game this holiday season needs to check himself. It will absolutely be Modern Warfare 2. And while I can say that without anything real being put on the line, Irish bookie Paddy Power has given the game 8/13 odds as being the best-selling game.

There will be a Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 bundle
Posted on September 16, 2009 | No Comments
Halo 3: ODST is coming out on September 22, 2009 but you may wanna wait for the bundle pack if you're in need of a new system. Well, maybe as it's only announced in countries that use the PAL TV standard as of now. But if it gets a US release, you can bet your trousers that some gamers will jump on the bundle.

Oh yeah, there will be a new PSP at E3 all right
Posted on May 28, 2009 | No CommentsIt's the rumor that refuses to go away: the next Sony PSP. Well, E3 is next week, thank God, and you should absolutely expect to see it, henceforth referred to as the PSP Go!, debut at Sony's press conference. It will be UMD-less (you can hear developers cheering), and possibly cheaper. That, and the slimmed down PS3 is real, too.
