Motorola Droid X for Verizon official: July 15 for $200
Posted on June 23, 2010 | No CommentsThere was little about the mighty Droid X that we hadn't already known -- but for what it's worth, Verizon and Motorola have teamed up today to expose everything we want to know about the next Android beast for Big Red. The 4.3-inch 854 x 480 handset features Android 2.1 with an all-new UI skin, a TI OMAP3640 processor galloping along at 1GHz, HDMI out, 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p video capture, and 8GB of onboard storage with expansion of up to 32GB (you get a 16GB card in the box) all stuffed in a package 9.9mm thick. Software wise, you've also got an integrated mobile hotspot with support for up to 5 devices connected over WiFi, DLNA support, and a legit multitouch keyboard with Swype built-in. It won't launch with Froyo, but that'll come later in the Summer as an upgrade along with Flash 10.1 support; the phone will be available on July 15 for $199.99 on contract after rebate, while the mobile hotspot service will run $20 extra a month with a 2GB cap and 5 cent per MB overage (data consumed on the phone itself is unlimited). Mirroring AT&T's move with the iPhone 4, all Verizon customers with upgrade dates in 2010 will be pulled up so they're eligible for the Droid X as soon as it's available. Follow the break for the full press release.Continue reading Motorola Droid X for Verizon official: July 15 for $200

Droid Xtreme (or X, or Shadow, or whatever it’s called) caught on camera yet again.
Posted on June 11, 2010 | No Comments
Man - is Motorola just giving out new, unannounced handsets to everyone they see carrying a camera? Between the Droid Xtreme, and the Droid 2, the number of leaks is starting to get silly.
With that said, keep'em coming! Today's latest batch of leaked goods comes in the form of gloriously sharp shots of the Droid 2's keyboard-less brother, the Droid Xtreme.

Dell Streak HDMI dock gets the hands-on treatment, kickstand-equipped case makes a cameo
Posted on June 4, 2010 | No CommentsWe managed to get an early look at the HDMI dock for the Dell Streak way back in February courtesy of T3's Greek site, but the accessory is now finally official (if not widely available), and Laptop Magazine has come through with what appears to be the first proper hands-on. Of course, there's not exactly a lot to go hands-on with, but it seems that dock does indeed function as a dock, and it also thankfully has a USB port and a line-out in addition to that HDMI port. Perhaps just as notable, however, is a Streak case that Laptop has also managed to get its hands on, which has a built-in kickstand. Check it out after the break.Dell Streak HDMI dock gets the hands-on treatment, kickstand-equipped case makes a cameo originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 04 Jun 2010 19:10:00 EST. Posted on June 4, 2010 | No Comments
The Mac Mini has its fair share of rumors and the latest is really just more of the same. Apparently there is a worldwide Mac Mini shortage, which leads some so-called pundits into thinking a new model is coming soon. But to their credit, they're probably right. The Core 2 Duo Mac Mini is ripe for a refresh.

Motorola Shadow glimpsed in the wild: 4.1-inch screen, 8MP camera, OMAP3630 processor?
Posted on May 25, 2010 | No CommentsLeave it to the very same poster who teased the Motorola Shadow's Getting Started manual, wnrussell of Howard Forums, to provide a pretty clear shot of the device itself -- yep, that's a HDMI out port -- and reveal some purported specs. Here's the claimed technical details: 4.1-inch screen, TI OMAP 3630 processor (a 720MHz ARM Cortex A8), 8GB internal storage, 8 megapixel camera. Yeah, we can buy all that, especially since he's clearly got the device in hand -- so now it's up to Verizon to let us know when we can do the same.

Motorola’s 4.3-inch Droid Shadow found in a unicorn gym?
Posted on May 25, 2010 | No CommentsColor us highly skeptical of the backstory, but Gizmodo claims to have received a picture of Motorola's rumored 4.3-inch Droid Shadow. The device above was supposedly left behind at a Verizon corporate gym in Washington. As the story is told, a gym employee managed to snap the photo above and identify an HDMI jack, 8 megapixel camera, Snapdragon processor, and 16GB of storage before the handset was remotely locked and the owner returned to claim it. Suspiciously, there's only one photo of the device shown at precisely the same angle as the supposedly leaked "getting started" image seen three days ago -- right, just enough time to cobble together a Photoshop. The refined Motoblur UI seems to align though so who knows... really, who knows?
