A graph: How much sense Lost makes
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No Comments
Last nights Lost episode left me confused, bewildered, and frustrated. I mean, what the hell was that? I was sure I understood 75% of the show's happenings last week, and while I'm still confident I know how it's going to end, last night's episode totally screwed up the show's continuity for me.
Anyway, that is all. The graph is the post. It's supposed to be funny and would be if it wasn't true. Click through to supersize.

iPad Confusing The Hell Out Of The Public. Or Is It Just The Brits?
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No Comments
As magical as Apple's iPad maybe, it's unlikely to go mass market anytime soon. Whoa! Hold everything. At least that's according to research carried out in the UK, which concludes that consumers struggle to see how the device could fit into their lives. Oh come, on guys... really?
Simpson Carpenter's qualitative research drew comments from participants such as: "It's just a big iPod Touch ... a big iPhone without the phone" and "everything it does I can do on my PC or my phone right now." Geez, these Brits... where do they get off, pointing out the bloody obvious...

Microsoft cancels the Courier, the Internet sheds a tear
Posted on April 29, 2010 | No Comments
The Microsoft Courier will never make it out of Microsoft's labs and into consumers hands. The project is dead. Kaput. Finished. At least that's what two sources told Gizmodo.
Apparently the Courier team got an email from Microsoft execs that stated the project will "no longer be supported," which pretty much means the project is dead. Even though it's somewhat surprising that the project was axed seeing as it was reportedly close to completion, it's not unheard of in other industries for companies to spend untold fortunes on a concept just for the hell of it.

Yup, that’s a Louis Vutton iPad case
Posted on April 28, 2010 | No Comments
I'm not sure what this says about the iPad or Louis Vuitton. On one hand it speaks volumes about the iPad's culturally significance that just weeks after its launch, trendy leather goods maker Louis Vuitton feels confident about the device to announces cases. But then what does it say about Louis Vuitton who is clearly willing to jump on bandwagons right away. Then again, what the hell do I know about Louis Vuitton or trendy culture?

The US might finally get the black Wii
Posted on April 27, 2010 | No Comments
Okay, this isn't even funny anymore. Why the hell isn't the black Wii available in the states? It has been available in Japan for almost nine months and about six months in Europe. That's just crazy. Previously Nintendo even stated that it had no plans on releasing a Wii in any other color besides white in America. But that stance might have changed.

LOL! Some1s stealing ur car!: Viper SmartStart for iPhone gets push notifications
Posted on April 23, 2010 | No Comments
We've written about the Viper SmartStart system before. It's the $30-per-year iPhone/BlackBerry app that, when paired with a $500 component in your car, ensures that you never have to worry about strenuous nonsense like turning a key to start your car or unlock your doors ever again.
Up until this point, its been a one way deal. You can tell your car to turn on and fire up the AC, or use your alarm to scare the hell out of people in parking lots miles away - but what if your car wanted to talk back to you?
Now it can!

Open thread: WTF is going on with Lost
Posted on April 14, 2010 | 1 Comment
John and I are fed up with Lost. We don't know what the hell is going on anymore. The show is supposed to be wrapping up soon, but each new epsisode presents more questions than it answers. We need some help. Here are our two biggest questions we're hoping someone can answer.
1: Is island Desmond the same person as alternate-reality Desmond. Like are they of one mind and conscience?
2: What job are the Losties applicants for? It doesn't make sense that it's Jacob's role because then Jacob would have had to know he was going to die in order to qualify and observe certain people their entire life. So what's going on here?
We have so many other questions like who that boy with the stick was and how/why the island had the big gear underground, but it's those two that are bothering us the most. Help?

Bullet hell shooter Espgaluda II to be released for iPhone
Posted on April 9, 2010 | No Comments
Bullet hell shooting games (aka maniac shooters) are, according to Wikipedia, shoot 'em ups "in which the entire screen is often almost completely filled with enemy bullets". And one of these games is Espgaluda II, developed by Japan-based Cave, released for arcade machines back in 2005 and now one day away of seeing a release in the App Store.

Make a paper iPad for fun and profit
Posted on April 1, 2010 | No CommentsAll this iPad crap is getting out of hand. It really is, but yet I’m here perpetuating the hype with this Macworld instructional video on how to make a paper iPad. I’m clearly driving the bus to hell. This could be great fun if you use the Daniel Tosh video after the jump as a [...] -
Anti-CrunchDeal: Refurb Dell XPS M1530 Core 2 Duo notebook for only $4,536
Posted on April 1, 2010 | No Comments
Whoa there, Dell. This is one hell of deal you have here in the Dell Outlet. A used XPS M1530 notebook for $4,536? It better come bundled with a used Mercedes-Benz because there is nothing about this notebook that's worth over $800 anyway.

Samsung already working on a Galaxy S Pro, complete with physical keyboard?
Posted on March 31, 2010 | No CommentsSometime yesterday afternoon, some new information started floating around the Kingdom of Ol’ Rumorton. “The Samsung Galaxy S… another version is coming,” whispered the trees of Rumorton, “and it’s called the Galaxy S Pro! And it has a physical keyboard!” The rumors were in a bit too shaky of a state yesterday for us to cover [...] -
Amazon’s convenient packaging hates hard drives
Posted on March 30, 2010 | No Comments
I like Amazon's "frustration free" packaging. When I ordered my copy of Command & Conquer 4, it came in that easy to open package, and it makes sense: why put a dvd in a box with a bag of air, and waste all that shipping? Would I trust a hard drive to that packaging? No way in hell.

CTIA 2010 Wrap-up: Android, Android, Android
Posted on March 26, 2010 | No CommentsBags have been packed, poker chips have been cashed, and planes have been boarded – and with that, the mobile-focused CTIA 2010 convention in Las Vegas has come to a close. Each time an event like this blows through town, tech heads do their best to distract themselves from their hangovers by writing monstrous posts [...] -
Windows Phone 7 emulator hacked. Sweet, sweet secrets spill out.
Posted on March 19, 2010 | No CommentsAs anyone in the history of ever who has ever written a single line of code that might be subject to hacking knows, the only way to keep something “hidden” in an application is to just not include it at all. Sure, you can obfuscate the hell out of it out in the source code, [...]
