Welcome to Bag Week!
Posted on December 14, 2009 | No Comments
Hello and welcome to CrunchGear's Bag Week, a week all about bags. Why bags, you ask? Because bags, whether we like it or not, are our first line of defense against the vagaries of a harsh world. We can protect our laptops in our curled and quivering arms or we can slide them into a nice Sumo or Booq and find ourselves secure in the knowledge that everything, for a little while, is going to be OK.

Sprint finalizes Virgin Mobile USA acquisition, rushes out to snag some cranberry sauce
Posted on November 24, 2009 | No Comments
It's hard to say if these guys were just looking to get this whole thing finalized before the holiday break, but either way, all the requisite i's have been dotted and t's crossed. As of today, Sprint Nextel has acquired Virgin Mobile USA -- a process that began back in late July -- and frankly, there's nothing you can do about it. The move will obviously position Sprint as a bigger player in the prepaid space, but outside of that presumably true assumption, it's tough to say what else the newfound lovers will do together. So, will the Facebook statuses be updated soon as well? HTC HD2 ripped to shreds, probably in the name of science
Posted on November 10, 2009 | No CommentsHello there, HD2. To be honest, it's a bit soon in our relationship to be seeing all your inner workings -- not that we mind. The folks on the xda-developers forums have done the duty of tearing down HTC's impressively skinned Windows Mobile 6.5 device. Not much to glean from the snapshots, but if you do harbor some strange technologically-inclined curiosity and would never consider ripping up the phone yourself, hit up the read link for more pictures.

Kari from Mythbusters wants you to say hello to her leetle friend
Posted on November 5, 2009 | No Comments
Fresh from the Twitter feed of Grant Imahara we see Kari from Mythbusters going nuts with a sniper rifle taller than her. I hope it's for an experiment and not a Discovery-channel sponsored "Deadliest Game" reality show where the prey will be hosts of various Food Network programs.

Dell Mini 3iX has WiFi, 3G, and a number of leaked UI photos
Posted on November 2, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Others, Android
You know what's ridiculous? Modern smartphones without WiFi (why hello there, Pixi and Tour). Looks like Dell's getting the message with the supposed Brazil-bound Mini 3iX, which as far as we can tell is the Mini 3i as it should've been -- same specs, plus WiFi and 3G connectivity. The OPhone-esque user interface also seems to have gone through some changes, at least cosmetically, and Cellular Cafe has the vivid imagery -- so might this be the little guy rumored to be coming to AT&T, or will we get the 2G variant instead? How about we just skip this one altogether and get the Streak?Dell Mini 3iX has WiFi, 3G, and a number of leaked UI photos originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 02 Nov 2009 22:08:00 EST. Dell Streak is a 5-inch Android 2.0 MID, packs 3G and WiFi (video)
Posted on October 21, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Android
Well, hello there! Those Dell MID rumors we've been hearing have finally received vindication in the form of a nice, picture-heavy leak courtesy of some industrious folks in Vietnam. What we know as of now is that there's an 800 x 480 touchscreen display, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G WWAN connectivity, all riding atop an Android 2.0 (aka,DonutEclair) install. A dual-LED flash 5 megapixel camera adorns the back, and there's a 1,300mAh battery to power all that goodness. See pics below and a video awaits after the break, where an old friend of ours plays with the device.

Oops! Verizon’s two Android phones get caught on camera
Posted on October 6, 2009 | No Comments
Duhwaaaah? Verizon was workin' all hard this morning to ensure that no one slipped up and mentioned any names when it came to the devices that would emerge from the VZW/Google partnership. Then, not even an hour later, they put a picture of Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam holding two separate devices in their own press release. Bloops!

Unidentified red Pentax DSLR spotted
Posted on September 16, 2009 | No CommentsHello, red. I’m thinking that this unidentified Pentax is probably a limited edition K2000d or the unannounced K-x. You may recall that the company also has the limited edition white and olive drab models too. The red might not be for everyone, but damn, it’s kind of hot. We’ll probably get more info shortly so [...] -
